The Lancashire comedian and entertainer Ken Dodd has died at his home in Knotty Ash, Liverpool, where he lived all his life, at the age of 90. In a long and illustrious career he was famous for his surprisingly intellectual humour at times along with his tickling stick and a string of hit singles in the 1960s.
One example of this humour is contained in the following clip, referring to his being cleared of the charge of tax evasion in 1989 through a smart remark by his Defence barrister George Carmen QC, who quipped that " Some accountants are comedians, but comedians are never accountants." https://youtu.be/KF8fTiCJWbE
