Soap opera storylines are weaved tightly within the history of their respective daytime dramas. Characters return, romances are re-ignited, and rivals are often sparked due to events and occurrences from the past. However, there are instances where soap operas have slipped a notch or two in order to push a new or existing storyline forward. Below are 15 truly disappointing soap opera storylines:

I totally disagree with the "Salem Stalker" storyline being disappointing. I think it's one of the very best storys DAYS has ever done.

I agree the Salem Stalker was probably the best serial killer story ever for daytime television. The ending was the most ridiculous story ever for a soap opera. Everyone killed ended up alive and on an island?!?! They shouldn't have done the storyline if they were afraid of the risks they were taking killing off shocking characters. I stopped watching Days after that. It was over the top like Passions idiotic storylines.

Nah I liked the The loving murders/The corrinth serial killer story was better.
