While superheroes may be all the rage right now with endless films and series, The WB/The CW were ahead of the curve with the Superman origin series, Smallville. I always liked how they worked in actors from past Superman movies/TV shows: Besides Christopher Reeve, Dean Cain, and Terri Hatcher already mentioned, there was also Margot Kidder, Helen Slater, Marc McClure (Jimmy Olsen from the Superman movies), and of course regular cast member Annette O'Toole (Lana Lang in Superman III) and recurring role Terrence Stamp (Zod in Superman II) as the voice of Jor El.
