CNBC Greenlights "Deal or No Deal" Reboot with Howie Mandel
by Denise Petski
March 13, 2018

CNBC is bringing back popular game show "Deal or No Deal" with its original host Howie Mandel.

Per CNBC, the new version will feature all the high energy and risk-reward that captivated audiences, with some exciting new twists. Produced for CNBC by Emmy-winning Truly Original, a subsidiary of Endemol Shine North America, the new "Deal or No Deal" will join CNBC’s primetime lineup in fourth quarter 2018.

“Our primetime programs, with their focus on business and money, strive to be both entertaining and instructive. Shows like The Profit and Shark Tank are built around high stakes and high rewards. Those same elements live at the heart of Deal or No Deal, which is why we believe it to be a perfect fit,” said CNBC Chairman Mark Hoffman.

“Today’s announcement confirms our deep commitment to primetime, strengthening our line-up, by adding one of the most successful game shows of all time along with the popular, original host, Howie Mandel.”

“Having been in this business for 40 years, I’ve been involved in every kind of production – live, variety, drama, film and animation. Nothing changed my life, career and perception of humanity more than one project, and that was Deal or No Deal,” said Mandel.

“I am excited to re-embark on the most thrilling, life-changing show with the brilliant Scott St. John and our new partners at CNBC. For me, there was only one answer to that iconic question and I am proud to have said DEAL!”

What a surprise that CNBC has been chosen to bring back a fan favorite from Game Show Heaven and I'm surprised that Deal Or No Deal is gonna be revived because I loved the original Deal Or No Deal since it came out in 2005 and even when it got cancelled and reruns aired on GSN I still watched it. I am so happy that Howie Mandel is returning to host the Deal Or No Deal revival because Howie Mandel really made Deal Or No Deal a hit for NBC and I can't imagine anyone else that could've hosted Deal Or No Deal other than Howie Mandel because Howie's sense of humor really did the show justice and it's no wonder the original Deal Or No Deal was such a neat show to watch. I wonder if in this new CNBC revival of Deal Or No Deal if there will be more million dollar champions like Jessica Robinson and Tomorrow Rodriguez from the original Deal Or No Deal and there could be a new set of Deal Or No Deal models and maybe Peter Abbay will return as The Banker. All I can say is "Welcome Back Howie Mandel" and I hope that this new version of Deal Or No Deal will be successful for CNBC and be so great

CNBC Sets December Premiere Date for "Deal or No Deal"
by Ruth Kinane
July 24, 2018

"Deal or No Deal" is bringing the briefcase back to primetime this winter!

On Tuesday, CNBC announced that the game show series, which aired from 2005 to 2009 on NBC, is returning to primetime TV with original host Howie Mandel in tow.

The new, reimagined season — which sees contests compete to win up to $1 million — will premiere on Wednesday, Dec. 5. and, according to the network, will “continue to offer up a high-pressure, high-stakes game of risk and reward” with some new added twists.

Mendel is clearly excited to get back to bargaining with the Banker, posting the news on Twitter. “I am so thrilled to announce that the all new #DealOrNoDeal is premiering DECEMBER 5 on CNBC!” he wrote.

The Deal Or No Deal revival is gonna premiere in December? What a surprise because I can't wait to see what surprises this new Deal Or No Deal revival will have? I was 19 when Deal Or No Deal first premiered in 2005 and I was forced to watch it due to my mom and I just liked it and it's great that CNBC has decided to give Deal Or No Deal a second chance and I hope it does well

When I was watching Jay Leno's Garage CNBC had aired two commercials for the new Deal Or No Deal revival and it seems that CNBC is expecting this Deal Or No Deal revival to be a huge surprise hit when it will debut December 5th. The other thing I noticed is that this new version of Deal Or No Deal will use the iconic theme song from the original and syndicated versions as well. As they say "The third time's the charm" and let's hope it's true for CNBC treats this version of Deal Or No Deal very well

There will be several brand new never before seen models who will make their Deal Or No Deal debut on the new Deal Or No Deal revival on CNBC. Among the new models will be
1. Mahogany "Case #19"
2. Lani
And Patricia Kara will return as briefcase model #9 on the Deal Or No Deal revival as well

We are just four days away from the Wednesday premiere of Deal Or No Deal according to CNBC and CNBC has been promoting commercials for it like crazy today so I expect it's gonna be a huge hit for CNBC for Winter 2018. I wish that CNBC would show it during the morning and afternoon hours because it would be a refreshing change from LMAD and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. The bad news that it's gonna be on at the same time as Survivor which Mom watches and so I may miss out on it

It seems that CNBC has done a lot of promotion for Deal Or No Deal's revival and the promotion finally has paid off. Mom and I saw the very first episodes of Deal Or No Deal's comeback and it was well done and full of excitement and fun. What really surprised me about the Deal Or No Deal revival was that the first contestant on Deal Or No Deal's first episode Joe did really well but had he not chose the million dollar case and kept the million dollars in play he would've been happy getting big cash offers from the banker and dealt when he could've had and that would have made Joe happy. The contestant in the second episode Casey seemed very excited but why did Deal Or No Deal make Casey play a game where she had to eliminate members of her family every time the banker offered her cash? To me it looked too similar to Survivor and they should not have made Casey do this and the only reason I think Casey auditioned to be a contestant to play Deal Or No Deal was because of her personality and mentioning every so often that her father was a huge DOND fan was a bit too much. But I think CNBC has really hit a home run out of the ballpark with the Deal Or No Deal revival and Howie Mandel still is showing the famous Deal Or No Deal spirit that made the show a huge success in the game show world when the original version first began in 2005. But one thing I noticed is that the show is now taped in Orlando Florida at Universal Studios Florida whereas the original version was filmed in Los Angeles and it seems that they changed studios for money reasons. But the episodes were great and I hope CNBC renews it for a second season because I want to audition to be a contestant for Deal Or No Deal

P.S. Who is the new banker on the Deal Or No Deal? I seem to think that Brooke Burns plays the banker now because the banker has the same hairstyle as Brooke Burns so is it really Brooke Burns playing the role as the banker?

Hi, Bestie! I agree with you, the bankers shadow looks a lot like Brooke. Wouldn't that be funny? Who else do you think the banker could be? Maybe one of he old suitcase girls? This ia a mystery.

I think the new Deal or No Deal can work out on CNBC with Howie Mandel returning as host.

The Howie Mandel-hosted game show returned this week on CNBC after a nearly 10-year hiatus. But is Deal or No Deal out of step with the times? "In 2018, as the culture continues to grapple with the way women have been disregarded and sometimes abused by Hollywood and its machers, Deal and shows like it raise an awkward question: Is this a convention whose time is up?" asks Lara Zarum. "Series like Deal encapsulate the paradox of the modern game-show modeling gig: On one hand, it offers a stiletto-heeled foot in the door for many young women who aspire to careers in entertainment — Meghan Markle and Chrissy Teigen, among others, got their starts on Deal or No Deal. Vanna White, who has been turning letters on Wheel of Fortune since 1983, has shaped that gig into a long, multifaceted career...On the other hand, it is unclear whether those advantages are worth the broader message it may communicate in the wake of #MeToo."

This is the stupidest thing I’ve read in a long time. Just pure stupidity on display.

And, by the way, Vanna stopped turning letters in 1997.

Deal or No Deal also promotes greed, and when you think about it, is quite offensive to suitcases.

Yes, child. Those suitcases are extremely offensive. They should be banned and replaced immediately with fanny packs. Oh wait—-fanny packs are offensive, as well. I guess just cancel the show!

Do they still take commercial breaks mid-turn?

This was a HUGE annoyance to me.
