Emmy-winning former Simpsons writer Josh Weinstein tweeted a picture of the original pitch for the iconic episode from June 1994.

It would have changed everything.

Maggie being the one, looking back on it now, is kind of eye rolling. But if they really wanted to they can rewrite it. I could Barney doing it or even Smithers. Actually, Moe could've been the one because I think that would fit his character. Barney could do it too, but he'd probably pass out before doing it.

Twenty five years later and it is still unbelieveable that Maggie is the killer.
