The animated preschool classic is coming back with a new live-action host. Production on a 20-episode new season will begin this summer, with a casting call for a new host set for next month. During its run from 1996 to 2002, Blue's Clues offered an alternative to Sesame Street for little kids. It also made host Steve Burns a star among children. But his departure in 2002 sparked all kinds of rumors, including that he had died of a heroin overdose (http://www.snopes.com/radiotv/tv/bluesclues.asp). In a 2016 interview, Burns cleared up why he left: he was balding and aging out of the role (https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/steve-burns-finally-confirms-why-he-left-blues-clues_us_5848f46ce4b0d0aa037f422e), and he felt it was time to move on.

When Blue's Clues debuted on Nickelodeon in 1996 it was the first interactive show that young children could interact with and having Steve Burns as the star made it extra special. My cousins used to watch Blue's Clues when they were little and when I watched it with them I thought Blue's Clues was so cool. But when Steve Burns left the show due to being diagnosed with an illness and replaced by a host named Joe who was played by Steve Burns's brother Blue's Clues still continued to be popular and later launched a spin-off show called Blue's Room you could tell how big of a star Nickelodeon made Blue. I think Nickelodeon will do an excellent job with this new reboot of Blue's Clues and when it debuts it will sure be a winner with the 2-7 age group. Hopefully in this new version of Blue's Clues they will have the classic ending song at the end of each episode. The one that goes,
"Now it's time for so long"
"But we'll sing one more song"
"Thanks for doing your part you sure are smart"
"You know with me and you and my dog Blue"
"We can do anything that we want to do"
I think Nickelodeon really has a smart idea to reboot Blue's Clues because it's such a classic and iconic show of many people's childhoods and I hope it's successful version
