Tim Allen is very much into the idea of reviving his popular '90s sitcom, Home Improvement.

The 64-year-old actor starred as toolman Tim Taylor on the popular TGIT sitcom that ran for eight seasons from 1991 to 1999 on ABC that launched Allen's acting career. Based on his stand-up, the family comedy co-starred Patricia Richardson, Zachery Ty Bryan, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Taran Noah Smith, Richard Karn, Debbe Dunning and the late Earl Hindman.

With Roseanne returning to the small screen later this month for new episodes, Allen was asked if the original Home Improvement cast would be on board for a reboot.

"I can't say everybody, but it has been floated," Allen revealed to ET's Nischelle Turner at the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar-viewing party on Sunday, with wife Jane Hajduk by his side. "And more than I would have expected said, 'Yeah, that would be cool to do it years later,' like Roseanne."

If it came down to it, Allen hinted that he would assume the role of leader if it meant getting members of the ensemble together again, though he's still reminiscing about what could have been for his canceled comedy, Last Man Standing, which ended in March 2017 after six seasons.

"I like that idea," Allen said. "I still miss Last Man Standing. We didn't get our seventh year. I adored that show. It's like having a new dog and now to go back to the old dog? I don't know. I like both characters, but yeah, I'd be very interested in that idea."

Though nothing is officially set for a Home Improvement revival, Allen has reunited with his former co-stars over the years. Richardson and Thomas, his one-time onscreen wife and son, respectively, as well as Karn, who played his best friend, appeared on separate episodes of Last Man Standing.

I'd love to see this show come back if Last Man Standing is officially in the past, but Home Improvement would most definitely not be the same with Wilson being gone. He was a part of some of my most favorite scenes of the show.

God bless you always!!!

Karn tells Closer Weekly "I think" Patricia Richardson "and the kids would be on board."

^^^ Amen to this. Michael J. Fox never walked away from Family Ties while doing the Back To The Future trilogy. The first Santa Clause film was released during the 4th season of Home Improvement.

God bless you and Tim and Michael J. always!!!

I'd watch this show...and though Earl Hindman is gone, maybe Willow Wilson can give Tim advice.

Or have a new Wilson, Wilson Wilson III.

Home Improvement's Patricia Richardson: Tim Allen always preferred bringing back his "new dog" Last Man Standing (https://twitter.com/prichardsonla/status/992557687132082177)
Richardson reacted to the news of Fox potentially bringing back Last Man Standing (https://www.tvtattle.com/item/Fox-is-interested-in-reviving-Last-Man-Standing-P8SxMo) amid talk of a Home Improvement revival (https://www.tvtattle.com/item/Tim-Allen-A-potential-Home-Improvement-revival-quot-has-been-floated-vaSE8b). "Hate to disappoint you fans of an HI reunion but Tim has always been pulling for bringing back his 'new dog' not the 'old dog,'" she tweeted. "It’s a much easier thing to do."

I think Last Man Standing would work on Amazon or Hulu. Maybe on FX or FOX since 20th Century Fox has ownership.

Tim Allen acknowledges there were Home Improvement reboot talks before Fox's Last Man Standing deal came together (https://www.eonline.com/news/935496/last-man-standing-s-return-may-have-just-stopped-home-improvement-revival-talks)
"All of us got together...is it relevant? Is Tim Taylor relevant?" Allen told E! News. "Everybody talked about it and then boom, this thing came together," he said of Fox picking up (https://www.tvtattle.com/item/Fox-officially-revives-Tim-Allens-Last-Man-Standing-2JSq6R) Last Man Standing. "I said, I like this show. I want to finish what we started."

Don't know what the hurry is. Give it a couple years after LMS is over.

I see LMS going about 2 more seasons then they'll do a HI reunion.

I'd rather they did the HI reunion. I'm not a fan of LMS.

Same here.

Even without Wilson, I'd love to see the Taylors united once more.

Is he going to do that plus Last Man Standing?

^^^ So far there are no official plans for a Home Improvement re-boot.

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. The big question is how much longer will Last Man Standing go for when its already gone for six seasons. So far Home Improvement went for eight.
