I don't have the full schedule yet, hopefully later this week, but I do know that WKRP in Cincinnati will be coming starting April 2nd at 9:30 p.m. Eastern.

Good.It would be nice if MeTV also added even more sitcoms to balance out their schedule since it's been too heavy on the dramas for quite some time now.Something like a 50/50 mix of comedies and dramas is what they should going for.

I hope it doesn't mean they're dumping Mama's Family. My hope would be that they'd dump Hogan, and double up on Mama in its place.

Or, maybe they'll dump Gomer and move Mama back to 9.

WTB? is on local TV here, and it just started last fall, so I doubt either Antenna or MeTV has picked it up.

I wish Small Wonder would get picked up by METV. I know I've expressed that before, but I just wish it could be seen on a non-digital subchannel station.

I guess part of it is, when Family Net changed branding and format, we [U-Verse] cable people lost a niche of retro programming. It's frustrating to have to go backward in tech just to see some other favorite retro shows.

WKRP is good news. I just hope other 80s sitcoms return where I can watch them, soon.

WKRP is one of my favorites, so I love this. I thought it would've made an excellent addition to the "Last Laughs" block on Sunday nights, but that's no more.

Hopefully, they'll include more original songs, like on the DVD set, but either way, I'll just be happy to see the show on TV again.

Everything is digital now, has been for a few years.. The smaller broadcast networks (not national like CBS, ABC etc.) are even called diginets. Antenna TV has the rights to Small Wonder and has been airing it on weekdays since the start of 2018.

On U-Verse, it's on the listings as if it was a regular cable station.

I know Small Wonder's on Antenna TV. I was just lamenting not being able to see it, since my cable is too good, and I don't need an over the air setup.

That was a special agreement with U-Verse to carry the direct feed. But otherwise it is a digital subchannel network with local affiliates just like Antenna TV.

Me too. Only thing I liked about it was the theme song. They don’t necessarily have to get rid of it but it’s been hogging the same spot for waaaay too long. They could at least move it to a different spot.

I can't imagine there are that many Hogan fans out there to register much of a rating. People like my dad who can not get out love those westerns, but I agree they need to cut back on them. I only watch "Wild Wild West" occasionally.

As for MASH it is literally on my cable lineup at least 12 times a day over about 4 different channels. I guess it may be popular (more than I imagine Hogan is) but if I loved the show that much I'd have the DVD's and watch unedited and commercial free rather than on METV, TVLand, and Goodness knows which other channels.

stevea
03-09-2018, 06:34 PM
MASH must have had a resurgence, as it was only on MeTV as of a few years ago. Now it's on TV Land, WGN, Sundance or whatever.

I wish somebody could explain the popularity...I sure don't understand it.

And Hogan--that's nowhere but MeTV. Maybe their ratings meter is out of order.

Hogan's Heroes must do well for MeTV to keep it in the 10PM hour this long. (I've never gotten the channel but sounds like Hogan has been there a few years.) My great uncle was a big fan of it when he was alive.

Does your schedule have "Abbott & Costello Go to Mars" for April 14 because that's what MeTV's online website says, but zap2it is saying "The Mummy". If it's "A&C Go to Mars", it must've been a last-minute scheduling thing because if "Hold That Ghost" had been played this week as it was supposed to, I highly doubt "Go to Mars" would be on the schedule two weeks from now.

They're skipping "Les on a Ledge", episode 3, for anyone's information.

Yeah, that's weird. I wonder why. I also wonder how these episodes will be, if they'll be the older syndicated versions with most music replaced like Antenna or new edited versions with more music intact. I'll be recording some episodes, even though I own the DVD, because I know some episodes had music intact where the DVD didn't.

Yes, it's "Abbott and Costello Go to Mars." The change was made on 3/20. It was originally "The Mummy."

Also, Hawaii Five-0 was a last minute change as well. They were originally scheduled to go onto season 8.

MeTV sometimes does odd things with normal syndication packages. For example, several years ago they showed all of the Bob Newhart Show except season 6 (eventually they did show season 6).

On H5O, the Syndication Bible shows that some episodes are not digitized, but the digitized ones go way beyond season 7. So, it's hard to know what happened there.

Re WKRP ep. 1-3--they probably don't want to get into gay and/or suicide issues.

I work most evenings, so unfortunately, I don't get home until after 10. I do kinda wish they'd air it in place of Hogan's Heroes, but I'm just being self-centered.

Hopefully, this show does well enough for MeTV to keep it around for a while. A lot of shows they had seem to come and go (T.J. Hooker and MacGyver come to mind) pretty quickly.

I have a couple of questions for the OP:
1) When will the Summer of Me schedule be out? Last year, it was out two days ago. I just want to know if there'll be any new sitcoms joining.

2) I also am wondering about May 26th's Sven movie, and possibly June 2nd.
