I E-Mailed Truble about the Gary Coleman advert and here is what they had to say-

Dear Chris,

Thank you for your email to Trouble TV

Our promo for the series Different Strokes does not set out to insult Gary Coleman, in fact the promo remembers the time when he was a very popular character in this sitcom. His life since this series has been in the press and is therefore in the public domain. At no point are we rude about him and we do not go into great detail in the promotion. We have had no complaints from anyone who has actually seen the promotion and we do not believe that the promo states anything that isn't already well - known about this actor.

We are sorry that you are not happy with what you have heard about this promotion but I can assure you that no offence was meant.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to contact us.

Yours sincerely

They can't even spell the show's name properly!
What a load of rubbish they were talking, none of my questions were answered and I don't know why it was said nobody who has seen it has complained.

They wrote nearly verbatim to you what they wrote me the first go-round of this. I was clear back then about having not seen the promos so it looks as though they didn't bother to rewrite a new response to you they just took what they had already written an sent it out. I wrote back then to tell them that what they were saying was untrue, disingenuous, doublespeak, and didn't change the fact that their adds are insulting to Gary Coleman. Their decision to create and run those adds is their right but they are being gutless and dishonest in their response to anyone who writes in to complain about them. I think part of the problem is what Robert Tilton wrote about not getting past lower level employees who aren't in a position to give you an honest critical response to what their staiton is airing. I don't know what you should do but you could at least send that email back and emphatically write --I have ACTUALLY SEEN the adds! -- No fun being stonewalled, is it?
