In the final season, the bus was hardly used. The family didn't seem to have as many "gigs" that season.
Could be the Partridges family popularity was fading or over by Season 4. Hoping someone more knowledgeable knows the answer.

The final scene for the bus was when Keith and Danny took it to spy on their mother, who was at Muldoon's Point with a former boyfriend. It was a very short scene.

I think most or their "gigs" were nearby, but in season 3 they were at an amusement park in Cincinatti. Don't know how they travelled there.

Yes, Reuben was in the original pilot. The only difference between the aired pilot and the unaired one is that the unaired one is slightly longer - Shirley is called “Connie” in that version, and she has a boyfriend played by Shirley Jones’ husband, Jack Cassidy.

There were far fewer “road shows” after the first season. My guess is that it was a budgetary issue - the road shows required different sets and more location shooting. I missed that though. After season 1, the show became a more conventional family sitcom.

Was Rubin in unaired pilot because I remember in the first episode where Danny was getting Rubin to expose the Patridge Family and I just wanted to know if she was ever in the unaired pilot

Interesting about Jack Cassidy. How come he didn't continue? I'm guessing it would have been awkward with both his wife and son on the show. Apparently (and if it weren't for SO I wouldn't know this) he was to be Ted Baxter on the MTM but decided against it.

It was with a few episodes to go in Season 1 that the PF became more a home sitcom. Remember the theme song changed in year 2.

No one wanted to give the Partridges gigs any more after that awful child singer became part of the cast. :nonono:
