As in, not mass produced, not super popular. Having a weird, niche feel, with weird, niche programming, and generally having an almost, Avant-garde style to it?

I would of said IFC years ago. Unfortunately they've gone more mainstream these days. El Rey Network and Vice definitely have that underground vibe going. Especially with the programming they put on their respective networks.

I'd maybe change my mind if I thought about it, but right offhand, I'd say USA Network, especially "Night Flight" and their "Up All Night" movies hosted by Rhonda Shear.

Excellent topic. I think all cable networks had that underground feel to them, at least at one time.

I think WGN wins. They recently had an original series called Underground.

USA back i n the day had that feel to it The Outdoor Channel use to have that niche feel until they started showing movies and canceled Discovery and A&E realty shows TCM with its Saturday underground but they rarely have it the Pursuit channel and SPIKE use to have that vibe when first started.

Adult Swim definitely. The bizarre cartoons alone have an underground feel to them.

Maybe when Fuse came out, and was more of an MTV alternative.

In a way...Nickelodeon before 1984...

They had shows that were out there...but when MTV would be part of Nickelodeon...it became more mainstream.
