I was reading Amazon reviews of the "Gidget" DVD set when I saw this:
There wasn't a girl in my high school who didn't discuss the show in detail -- Sally's hair, clothes, etc.
If you were around in 65 and 66, does this jibe with your experience? Was the show popular with your friends, and did you talk about the show/characters/episodes? Did you watch it with your friends or family?

I remember watching Gidget when it was first on. But I don't remember talking about it with my friends. BUT that's probably because I'm a guy and guys wouldn't talk about a girl's show with each other. I do think more that this is something that is true though for girls. I'm sure girls who watched did talk about it the next day, though I don't have a definite memory of that. But it sounds likely.

I do remember talking about Man From Uncle, Superman, Batman, Wild Wild West and other action shows.:)
