Florida acted way out of character and Esther said something like,"Florida changed for the worse in Season 4. She would not remarry so soon after the love of her life died suddenly in a car accident, and she is a Devout Christian and would not marry an Atheist. They really messed up the Florida character in Season 4". She also mentioned thinking it was disgusting that JJ was still portrayed as being a foolish buffoon even after James died and he was a 19 year adult and now man of the house. I personally think JJ grew up a lot in Season 4. He told Ray off for trying to rape his sister Thelma and tried to beat up Ray, he tried to beat up Carl for breaking his mother's heart, and got a serious job to prevent his family from getting evicted. He also had a serious talk about Michael joining a gang this season. He was actually pretty mature this season.

Florida GAMBLED in Season 4! Gambling is a huge no no in Christian belief and I was shocked that Christian Florida gambled in Season 4. I was like,"Wow, Florida is acting out of character!"
