Hi all,
I haven't seen the episode for quite a while, but I could swear that, when Allan Arbus' character -- psychiatrist Dr. Freedman -- first appeared on M*A*S*H, his first name was given as Milton, not Sidney.

Does anyone else remember this, or am I imagining it?

Hi again all,
Yup, I was right. Just checked it out in one of the episode guides.

In episode #27, "Radar's Report," Dr. Freedman's first appearance, he was called "Milton."

Thanks anyway, folks. (as if somebody would have replied to me.)

That's wierd.
In "The Complete Book Of MASH," their episode guide refers to him as Sidney in that episode.

The plot thickens...

TJL,
I'm afraid somebody made a mistake in that book, 'cause as my initial post indicates, I remember, from seeing the episode in the past, that his name was Milton in it. And, I found the following in Dave Smith's M*A*S*H Episode Guide at epguides.com:

"This is the first of 12 appearances by Allan Arbus as psychiatrist Sidney Freedman, although in this first appearance he is called Milton."

Thanks for the reply.
