Sorry if this has been discussed before....I didn’t see it recently...but does anyone know why on the DVD releases (except season 1) they have Estelle Getty as Sophia not wearing her trademark glasses? This has always just bugged me, as they are as much a part of her character as her white hair and purse. It just doesn’t make sense to me to not show her as she appears on the show. I remember only the one episode where she lost her glasses (and couldn’t see a thing).

Interesting catch, tmac81s :eek: I had never noticed that, and I own all 7 DVD's.

Perhaps it was Estelle's choice? Or the photographer felt the light reflecting off the lenses distracted? Dunno......... :confused:

This has always bugged me, too.

I have all 7 seasons but their cases are in pretty bad shape due to shelf wear. I've owned them since they were originally released. I keep hoping for a new shelf-friendly complete series set with a sturdy box.

Just an FYI about the "complete series" issue, tlc. I found I much prefer having each season in separate containers. That's how I have Golden Girls. My son bought me the entire Hot In Cleveland series, which is in one continuous plastic container.

I'm thrilled to have the Hot In Cleveland series, but it's somewhat more cumbersome and confusing to find and replace the discs when there are so many jumbled up together, three to a plastic "page". Just saying. :crazy:

I had noticed that. Also, how their photos don't match up to the season (at least for the early seasons- they may for the later ones, have to check).
