View Full Version : Living Biblically Debuting Soon On CBS
Hawkee 02-07-2018, 03:02 AM While watching Let's Make A Deal on CBS I learned that a new sitcom will debut on CBS later this month called Biblcally Living and from the preview I saw of it it seems to look nice. I don't know what actors/actresses will star in Biblcally Living but I think CBS will score a winning sitcom this winter

stevea 02-07-2018, 12:14 PM It's actually called "Living Biblically", debuting Feb. 26, according to Wikipedia. It's about a man who decides to live his life according to the Bible after the death of his best friend.
I'm at a loss as to imagine what some of the storylines might be, but it might be interesting to see.
Chocolate Moose 02-07-2018, 04:09 PM The book was good.
I saw a few small clips of it while watching "Young Sheldon". It looks HORRIBLE!!!
stevea 02-09-2018, 07:12 PM Details, please. What's horrible? My first thought would be, OK, he's going to live biblically. Now what?
I guess we'd have to tune in to find out.
Yong Fang 02-11-2018, 01:07 AM Will the character....
1. Hate homosexuals, and desire to have them stoned to death?
2. Beat his wife and children?
3. Fully believe in childish fairy tales completely?
4. Force his wife and daughters to never cut their hair?
5. Force his wife to be silent in church and subservient to his every need from cooking to sex on threats of being beaten?
6. Tell everyone they are going to hell, because this is what the Bible tells him to do, out of fear he might go to hell?
7. Tear his eyes out if they offend him or castrate himself to keep from him engaging in wanton sexual activity?
8. Believe the Earth and Universe is 6000 years old?
9. Stay away from non believers except to preach nonsense at them?
10. Homeschool his terrified to be beaten and sent to Hell children to keep them away from Worldly things?
If not, then he isn't living Biblically. CBS can't show this, so what's the point?

Wow!
It's 2018.
LOL.
It sounds like your the new "stone thrower".
Such hate...
Weird.
For the record, the show just seems like a flop.
More and more, I think the revival/reboot of "Murphy Brown" seems like a good idea.
Looking forward to that show.
Will be interesting.

This is exactly what the media believes about all conservatives - religious or not - and why today's mainstream news and entertainment is completely unwatchable. You have proven it much better than I ever could.
Yong Fang 02-11-2018, 10:44 AM What's the "hate"? The Bible supports every last thing I wrote, and this is from the Old and New Testement. Most people do not know the Bible because they do not and have not READ the Bible and churchgoers depend on and pay a minister to read the Bible for them, who cherry picks it as an apologetic and does not and cannot read what it really means.
Religion has bred hate and moronic idiocy for thousands of years. Just pointing this out.

I don't disagree with that last statement. Even though I am a conservative I'm completely non religious.
However, radical liberalism is the new religion.
There are few people in the civilized world more ignorant and hateful than liberals.
And just as radical islam, they're the last to know it.

Now that's a show I would watch!! Toss in a Roman orgy or two per episode and it can't miss!

You're a fool.
A fool who either is out of his ignorance doesn't understand(and has probably never read) the Bible nor the context therein, or out of his hate is just trying to agitate and stir deception. If it is either one, but especially if it is the latter reason, then I feel sorry for you. It could mean that God has had enough with you and has given you over to a reprobate mind, to do with as you wish, to be in the world as you wish, until your eternal destiny. I'll pray for you anyway, even through your mockery.
As for this tv show, I wouldn't trust any network, save maybe, maybe Hallmark or similar channel, to accurately portray Christian living. Even Michael Landon in his show Highway To Heaven, put too much emphasis on "social justice" in many of those episodes.
CBS is just trying to make a buck off of the Christian audience and will no doubt add their worship of worldly things(societal) in the episodes.

That's what Jehovas Witnesses would do!
If that make this show blasphemous...it will tank big time!
Yong Fang 02-12-2018, 01:31 AM I have learned when someone doesn't have a counter argument and resorts to calling people names like "fool", they have lost the fight and have nothing to say, so who is really the fool?
I am sorry, but you have never read the Bible yourself. Or how cruel the God of the Bible really is, or the ridiculous and impossible rules and mandates this God has set on humanity as a whole. Kill homosexuals. Kill unruly children. Yoke wives to their husbands, and have wives servants to their husbands. Genocide, slavery, murder in the name of God.
Is this show a joke? There is no such thing as "Living Biblically". It is an impossible ideal.
stevea 02-12-2018, 06:32 PM What ridiculous and impossible rules/mandates did God set? Are you referring to the Ten Commandments? If so, which are the ones we should disobey, against His will? What is it about God's will for our lives that is bad for us? I agree that name calling accomplishes nothing. There is no shortage of name calling, on either side.
MrCleveland 02-13-2018, 03:39 PM Is this show a joke? There is no such thing as "Living Biblically". It is an impossible ideal.
This is true...only one person lived Biblically...and that's Jesus!
I saw some pics and...I won't watch! I'm sure many will call the show blasphemy!
Willbo 02-13-2018, 06:52 PM I saw a preview for it and thought it looked sacrilegious. However, I would view it so I could form my opinion. I am a Christian and would never adhere to what Mr Cleveland stated.

I'm not sure if the show is blasphemy...but many religious right people may...that's what I'm saying...
visaman666 03-08-2018, 07:32 AM Obviously not one of you has seen the show yet. Yes, in the pilot, he did throw a rock at an adulterer, and it hit his forehead. And he only wears one type of cloth. In the 2nd episode he smashed his smartphone because it was a graven idol.
The guy is a practicing Catholic, and he has a priest and a rabbi as his, "God Squad".
The plot is very dumbed down and the writing is sophomoric at times, but it has promise.
