Now that we know that Hallmark has purchased some new sitcoms, how much longer do you think this show will continue to air? I'm guessing until late Aug or early Sep when the new schedule goes into effect. Anybody else think this show will soon disaapear, having enjoyed a good run on Hallmark?

I'm very worried about that. I've been thinking about that ever since I found out that the Hallmark channel purchased some new shows. I know that to begin with they had Alf and Happy Days then Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie began to come on and overtook the others and began coming on three times each in the afternoon so if they beat Happy Days and Alf then I hope that the Hallmark channel realize that Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie can't be replaced. I do think that they will stop coming on for a while but I hope that nobody watches the channel's new line up and mabye they'll bring them back.

It seems like Hallmark has been running the colorized black and white eps forever or at least most of this year so far. I hope they don't cancel it and I'm waiting for some of the newer shows with Serena and Esmerelda.

I think that Hallmark will continue to run the Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie episodes, but maybe not in one hour blocks, twice a day. :)

I would love to know why "Bewitched" has to be edited on HC. I mean, the action seems to jump suddenly from one scene to another, omitting certain lines and scenes that was already in them. When it was on Nick at Nite, they didn;t edit them like this.

That is exactly what I was wondering! Hallmark tends to do heavy editing, and it is usually at the beginning of the episode, or in inconvenient places. I watch them on my local station at 5 am when I can because they are more carefully edited then, and not completely butchered like on Hallmark. They need to learn how to edit the right way, like other cable stations do (N@N & TVL). Even TNN edits their shows better.

I'm pretty certain Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie will be leaving Hallmark in January 2003, when new shows come on. But have no fear! Larry Jones, Executive VP/GM of TVLand & Nick, says they have plans to add Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, & Sanford & Son back to their lineup in 2003.

Here is the exact quote from ORBIT SATELLITE MAGAZINE (Aug. 2002)

"These shows are more relevant than ever," sums up Larry Jones of TV Land, which will add Sanford & Son, Bewitched &I Dream of Jeannie in 2003.

No official word has been announced by TV Land when exactly these shows will re-join the lineup. Pavanbadal (I believe) stated somewhere, or someone did that Hallmark loses the rights to these two shows in January 2003, and this statement by Larry Jones seems to make it more relevent.

The two shows being moved to TvLand may prove to be a smart decision. More people probably have TvLand rather than the Hallmark Channel, which would give the shows better ratings! And maybe keep them alive on television for a few more years.

I hope the contracts for both shows don't expire until May 31st, 2003 because I don't want to have to wait a whole five months (or even longer) to see these two shows again.

If the contracts do expire at the end of this year then I wonder what networks will be airings the shows in January thru May of 2003.

I don't know but we'll see . . .

Bewitched has never been on TV Land before as a regular so therefore it is not returning to the network, but instead, making it's debut.

TV Land doesn't hack up episodes as much as other channels. They're pretty loyal to the original.

From what I heard TV Land will be playing the B&W episodes from Bewitched.
