The 1981 murders of Roxann Jo Jeeves and her five-year-old son Kristopher Korper will be the subject of a new episode of the ID series True Conviction tomorrow night (Tuesday, February 6) at 10 pm EST. Roxann and Kris were murdered on December 23, 1981, the latter's fifth birthday. It took over two decades to make an arrest in the case. George Washington Hicks was convicted of the murders and is now in prison.

UM profiled the case on April 27, 1994. It was also documented in the On The Case with Paula Zahn episode "Field of Nightmares" in 2014.

Did they rule out ties from this guy to her brother? Always felt bad for that guy.

Kurt Jeeves had a history of pissing people off--especially within the context of drug transactions--which is ultimately how he ended up murdered in Louisville, KY in 1984 after he was kicked out of the Army.

From what I understand, Kurt's link to Hicks, a known drug-dealer, was pretty well-established by LE. It would seem to be a given that Hicks may have never even come into contact with Roxanne and Kristopher were it not for Kurt's activities.

The sister of Roxann Jeeves made it sound like Kurt Jeeves was robbed and killed without trying to buy drugs from his assailants. They also never elaborated on whether George Washington Hicks knew Kurt or not.

All around tragic no matter how it went down.

If it was nothing to do with the brother imagine trying to stay clean with everyone saying you got your sister and young nephew murdered. If it was the guilt would have been huge.

Investigation Discovery.
Thank you. I was able to watch. It’s such a sad case. One of my worst from the show. Glad to see how hard the detective worked to solve the case and how they proved it beyond a doubt.

I agree. Usually drug users in apartment areas all know one another and traffic together. The fact that Christopher walked with him holding hands and seemed comfortable in the backseat according to the gas attendant leads me to believe Kurt knew him. It’s also frustrating that he walked out of his interview with the detective after 5 mins.

Imagine being the gas station attendant washing the windows knowing something is off but not knowing quite what it is. Then realizing the woman you saw along with her son are murdered 30 minutes later. I can imagine he has thought in his head that if he had just said "Ma'am, is everything alright?" Maybe she's alive, who knows.

yeah that's a tough one. It seems as if he talked himself out of a potential confrontation because of Christopher's behavior. I'm convinced that Christopher Jeeves had been around Hicks before based on Christopher's demeanor. Hicks is a monster, I'm very glad that the lead investigator continued to pursue him. It's sad that Roxanne's brother also died. and disappointing that he was unwilling to cooperate with Roxanne and Christopher's investigation. If I remember the ID episode correctly, I don't think Roxanne's family wanted to discuss her brother or connect his involvement in drugs. I guess I can't blame them for that. It's unimaginable to lose 2 children and a grandchild like that.
