Synopsis on METV: Eddie and Wally conspire to cheat on a school test. Why don’t they watch the episode before writing the plot. How about Eddie and Lumpy cheat on a test.

If you read the synopsis on TV Guide, there are a lot of errors on there, also. For instance, for a Two and a Half Men episode, I read a synopsis just last night: Evelyn finally meets Charlie and Chelsea. Pretty interesting, considering Charlie is Evelyn's son.

These synopses are pretty bad. Some are right on the money. Don’t know much about Two and a Half Men except it starred Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer.

Did anyone notice a kid sitting in the back of the room when Wally gets ink on his hands? He’s the same kid who Wally stops in the hall in Wally’s Election. He introduces himself and Eddie says don’t bother he’s a freshman. Why is he in a sophomore history class? I know they needed extras to fill the seats.

Also in Wally’s Election why is Wally sitting so close to Ward at the dinner table? When they pan back he’s not so close. Wally usually sits in the middle of the side of the table.

Yes, the synopses are pretty bad. The MeTV one was probably taken right out of the TV Guide.

Even if the description is right, routinely there are grammatical or syntax errors. They used to be better, but I noticed they rewrote them a few years ago (bad idea).

A couple of notes from this episode:

I was looking at the names on the grade list (freezing the DVD recorder). Other than the 3 guys in the cast, I didn't recognize one of them (none of Wally's numerous past or future girlfriends, etc.).

The other thing I noticed (correct me if I'm wrong): I think this was the first time Clarence backed down when Wally stood up to him.

I've read that the most difficult shots to get are around a table. So, the likely answer is that the cinematographer and/or director moved the chair over so he could get them both into the shot cleanly.

Right, they move the actors closer for scenes where it's not a pan shot but less than an individual closeup. Consider the scenes in which there are 4 in a car, 2 in the front and 2 in the back. The back seat riders are close together and the front seaters far apart, so all can be shown.

As for episode descriptions, they are probably not written by people who really know the show, so they might just 'skim' over it and get some ideas to put down and then go on the next. But even in Jerry Mathers' autobiography he gives some episode descriptions that are off the mark. For one example, his description of "Teacher Comes to Dinner" is like every other I've seen, and he says Beaver talked his parents into inviting Miss Landers to dinner... that's not so; it was June's idea, based on Ward's anecdote about older times, and Beaver didn't even know his mom had invited her until Miss Landers told him after school.
