I never got into Sanford and Son, but I know it came out fine first, and it seems like there was a short-lived Cosby one that debuted before that one.
Take care and God bless

Also sitcom titled Julia starring Diahann Carroll.

Jeffersons were the first upwardly mobile black family. Lasted 11 seasons, a sitcom record at the time!

OK, I got confused. I liked the last season a lot. I liked how Tom & George became best friends and I really liked how George stopped using terms like "honky" or "zebra." But I think he stopped doing that much earlier, maybe by season 9.

I think I read somewhere that Sherman Helmsley didn't like saying stuff like "honkey."

Yeah because the characters had became friends. i think the only person he was rude to after 1980 was florence. He was a lot nicer to bentley and tom

As the show went on he told the producers he didn't want to keep calling Tom "honky" anymore because they became friends.
