What is your definition of spinoff? There doesn't seem to be any universal agreement on the term. What are your criteria for what constitutes a "spinoff" series?

mine is when its an certain popular character like mama's family was an spinn off the carol burnett show!! then sanford & son actually had 2 spinn off one was called sanford then the other was called sanford arms!! then i love lucy had several spin off like the lucy show here's lucy then i also heard of life with lucy but i never seen it!!

I'll toss in the "definitions" used in this book:

Character spinoff- the same supporting or secondary characters from the original show who usually become the main characters in the spinoff

Planted spinoff (back door pilot)- a new character who was introduced on a "special" episode of the original show
