Why should critics devote their limited time to obviously bad or mediocre television when there are so many good TV shows out there to review?

If modern TV was any good they would not have to give it fancy terms such as "Peak TV" and so on.

The Peak TV era is long gone.

They mean 'Peak' as in quantity, not quality.

Woo-hoo, back posting!

Generally critics these days are gung-ho about the quirky, indie shows not seen on mainstream networks, or edgy cable shows while they dismiss most network programs. But if the critics themselves are pointing out that network shows have to play it safe for general viewers, then why even fault them for it in the first place? Now, I really don't watch any network TV, but that seems a little hypocritical to me, bad show or not.
