CBS star Drew Carey is set for a guest spot on the network’s long-running drama series "NCIS".

Carey will play retired Marine Sergeant John Ross in the episode 'Handle with Care' which is scheduled to air in early March. Carey’s Ross is a retired Marine Sergeant who ships care packages to active-duty servicemen every day. He is the lead suspect in a murder case after one of his care packages contains cookies laced with cyanide.

A loyal and honorable veteran, Ross is determined to help Gibbs and the team locate the real culprit and clear his name.

“With the casting of John Ross, a retired Marine, we needed an actor who could play the outgoing, passionate side of the character but also the dark reality that he is still haunted from being a prisoner of war for many years,” said showrunners Frank Cardea and George Schenck.

“We are thrilled to have Drew Carey, who served in the Marine Reserves, as a Marine portray this complex role and look forward to fans seeing him in this powerful and heart-warming episode.”

Someone framed Drew Carey. And he wants to kick some butt! EW has obtained an exclusive first look at "The Price is Right" host in his guest-starring role on "NCIS".

In the episode titled “Handle with Care,” slated for Tuesday, March 6th, Carey plays a retired Marine Sergeant John Ross who, together with Gibbs (Harmon), is hoping to clear his name after he’s accused of packing cyanide-laced cookies in care packages for active-duty servicemen. At least one soldier died… and there could be more.

Carey’s character — who’s also a former prisoner of war — helps Gibbs and the team find the real culprit behind the death of the serviceman. And he has some suspicions (ergo, Gibbs trying to hold him back from making a mistake he’ll regret).

“Working on NCIS was a terrific experience for me,” said Carey.

“The entire cast and crew were so welcoming and professional. You can’t believe how hard they work to do that show.”
