When I was a little kid, I used to think the 1950's, early 60's, and before that was the way portrayed in these squeaky clean tv shows like I Love Lucy and Leave It to Beaver.

Pretty naive on my part. Life was never like it was portrayed in these "perfect lives" tv shows.

Well I rather live in the I love Lucy era/show than Gunsmoke where one strange look could get you get killed. I wonder was life like that in Kansas in 1880?

I felt like back in the 1950s/1960s there was never sadness just rainbows and unicorns. But, when you think about and look into it 1950s/1960s had there bad and terrible moments too.

Mets,

Definitely. I used to think that time period was perfect like that, but television is just television.

Life was never that perfect, but I used to have this false notion that before 1964 everyday life was Leave It to Beaveresque.

People not understanding the difference between fiction and reality is why I contend that left wing propaganda in Hollywood and on supposed news shows is so dangerous.
