I don’t get this anymore, but how are the new shows?

I wouldn't know since I've stopped watching Antenna TV because they crunch the credits. A LOT of their shows I'd like to see again like SOAP, MURPHY BROWN and COACH but unfortunately they've made the channel unwatchable.

A shame because they used to be one of the better "retro-channels".:(

I’m in the same boat as you. I turned it on shortly the other night to see if they were crunching the new shows and they were actually doing the split screen crunch in prime time which is even worse so I turned it off immediately. I will never watch this channel again:

I think it's one of their better schedules. However, Alice and Head of the Class needed better slots. The credit crunch is so minor to me it doesn't really matter. Sure, I'd like to have full credits (and it happens on some shows), but we have a good variety of shows, so I'm not complaining.

I hate The Credit Crunch. Actually, during a episode of Welcome Back Kotter, they didn't crunch the credits.

But despite The Credit Crunch I like the shows. Literally, I watch it all afternoon.

I absolutely hate it, but I just watch the Newhart DVDs I got for Christmas when it's on

i watch benson,soap, the hogan family, gimme a break, coach, silver spoons and i have alice, murphy brown and growing pains taped which i havent watched yet. im enjoying the shows and on a side note today we lost jerry van dyke, i was thinking the other day when i was watching coach if he was still around and thinking if he would outlast dick van dyke and now this happens. such sad news.

i also watch head of the class and all of these besides gimme a break i never even watch before. i also watch maude since it started from the beginning. so im watching a lot.

It's great to finally see Alice for the first time in many years. At least it's not heavily edited like it was on ION.

Alice was horrible on ION. I think I timed it out to 18 minutes of program, about the same as Logo. And ION did the credit crunch, to boot. I'd bet Antenna is around 22 minutes.

I hope to see a full series DVD set at some point.

Going back to the subject, the new schedule is pretty good. Most any time you can tune in and there is something worthwhile, or at least not too bad, to watch.

I don't like what they do to the credits, very few like what they do to the credits. But the fact is, networks have been adulterating credits, way back to the 1980s, so I'm pretty sure no network that does it is going to stop, including Antenna TV.

I like Decades too when they have something goodnight on their weekend binge marathons. I watched some of the Get Smart marathon they had this past weekend.

I have lost Antenna unless it is on another station than the one I had. But lose one station I pick up another. I too love DECADES. They have sure dug up some oldies from the 1950's and 1960's.

Been seeing Small Wonder-previously on Saturdays only-and Growing Pains. Have yet to see Head Of The Class and The Hogan Family.

I really enjoy seeing The Hogan Family, and occasionally seeing Head of the Class.

One thing I've noticed about the new shows is that they have different openings. What I mean is I've seen two different openings for My Two Dads and Silver Spoons.

I remembered, my very first time watching My Two Dads was on Up! network and it was Jan 2017. There are different opening themes: season 1, season 2, and season 3. First two episodes of season 1 uses much different opening theme. I don't think it was the syndication inconsistency theme though

Antenna shows full lengths of shows like Soap, The Hogan Family, Head of the Class, Murphy Brown, Wings, Becker, & Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. I think Silver Spoons and Alice may be edited for more commercials (Silver Spoons was likely edited by Sony some time ago for syndication).

You know, that's freaky because I thought the same thing watching Silver Spoons last night. Unbelievable that it was a 5 min. commercial.

I was glad last year when Antenna TV started airing The Joey Bishop Show. I know it isn't the greatest sitcom, but it's loads of fun, episodes are lots of fun. :) I think season 3 is the peak season of the series with all the different guest stars. Lots of fun. :D

Joey Bishop is still on , but really early. The old shows (Joey, Hazel, Dennis the menace and McHales Navy) are all on early ! ;) I can see Hazel and Dennis the menace on the two days I start early on my job. But the others are WAY TOO early here! :(

I think Antenna TV is starting to shift their focus to more recent sitcoms from the 1980's & 1990's. The older shows they still air from the 50's & 60's have been scheduled in unfavorable time slots like overnight or early in the morning. :(

I recorded all the Joey Bishop's and transferred them on to DVD's. I was always curious about the show, then when Antenna started airing it last year I discovered how much fun it is, and I said, damn I have to start recording these! :D :lol:

I think they show the old shows early because the retirees (like me) watch TV in the morning, and like those 50s and 60s shows. They transition to the 70s and 80s in the afternoon, probably to provide an alternative to all those westerns on the other channels.

Yes, they are. But it's the credit crunch where they show a promo instead of the next show. Welcome Back Kotter isn't crunched either.

Murphy Brown is crunched, also. Burns and Allen has the promo crunch--shows going into the Joey Bishop Show seem to always be crunched that way, probably due to short opening credits leaving too little time for their other credit crunch.

The 1:30 am ET Benson credits are as crunched as a cereal captain.

That's odd considering it wasn't crunched.

One thing I find odd is that MeTV slightly sped the WBK theme song in places (but you could hardly tell) so they probably both edited it differently. I imagine WB provided Antenna with newly remastered prints of Welcome Back Kotter (they look pretty good) and edited it down for Antenna so it was 22:30 or 23 minutes or whatever. It doesn't even look like they edited out full scenes of Alice or Welcome Back Kotter, probably bits of them though. I imagine they did a lot better by Alice than Logo!
