Bradley Cooper is celebrating his 43rd today. Cooper studied English and acted in a student theater group at Georgetown; he made his screen debut in a brief appearance on Sex and the City while in the process of earning an MFA from the Actors Studio Drama School. He started to make a name for himself as a regular on the first two seasons of Alias. He began to get some decent film roles in the mid-2000s, but it wasn’t until he starred as Phil Wenneck in The Hangover that he made his breakthrough as a star.
Cooper is a four-time Oscar nominee. His first, for Best Actor, was for Silver Linings Playbook. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for American Hustle, and then received nominations for Best Actor and as a producer of a Best Picture nominee for American Sniper. He played Templeton “Faceman” Peck in The A-Team, reunited with Silver Linings costar Jennifer Lawrence in Serena and (in a supporting role) Joy, and will star with Lady Gaga in the latest remake of A Star is Born. But his most widely seen performance is likely a voice role.
