For me and thousands of hockey fans all across Canada and especially in the Toronto area, the year 2017 ended on a very sad note. On Dec. 26, 2017, Boxing Day in Canada, legendary goaltender Johnny Bower, who guided the Toronto Maple Leafs to 4 Stanley Cups in the 1960s, died at his home near Toronto of pneumonia at the age of 93. Bower was beloved by Leaf fans of all generations, even by fans like myself who were too young to see him play. To look back at his life and career, I have included for you these videos:

Today at 3 pm the city of Toronto and the Leafs will take part in a special "Celebration Of Life" in honour of his life where his casket will be placed on display at the Air Canada Centre for fans to visit and former teammates including Dave Keon, Frank Mahovlich, and George Armstrong will be expected to speak about their experiences with Bower. The ceremony will be seen at 3 pm on both TSN and Sportsnet. I will post the YouTube video here later this week for those of you who couldn't watch it live or on streaming video.
The Bower family will hold a private funeral on Friday.
