-Married to girl with Red Hair.

-Disrespected and ridiculed by everyone, even his dog.

-Failure in life and every plan ends in disaster.

-And he still lives next to Marcy.

The key difference though is that Al Bundy once scored four touchdowns in a single game while Charlie Brown couldn't even touch the damn ball.

And Charlie did have some support and a faithful dog.

I don't think so - Al has completely given up and doesn't really care about anyone else and pretty much does everything for selfish reasons, if he does something for anyone else it is begrudgingly. When something bad happens to Al, he probably deserved it.

Charlie Brown is usually doing things for the right reasons and cares for his friends, even when he doesn't win or things don't go his way he still somehow manages to keep persevering. CB for the most part doesn't deserve the rotten luck he has, and occasionally he does get the good results that he deserves.

And I don't see him sneaking off to DC to save his favorite TV show but I can see him taking over the Jerry Springer Show or going to the nudy bar.
