Ever since Dick Clark passed away I have noticed that New Year's Rocking Eve has gone downhill and I would like to know what the reason is? Is it because it's one of the popular and most expensive TV specials to make every year? Or is it because this special was created to celebrate New Year's Eve with a fresh and sassy style? Because when I have seen New Year's Rocking Eve every year I've noticed that it's become a show that features rap artists rather than pop artists and you rarely see country artists perform on there and to me it seems like it's become a top target to promote new singers that will become huge in the new year. Another thing that I've noticed about New Year's Rocking Eve is that even though Dick Clark has been dead for years the show still uses Dick Clark's name in it's title and now that Ryan Seacrest hosts it the show should be renamed Ryan Seacrest's New Year's Rocking Eve. Is this because New Year's Rocking Eve wants to keep Mr. Clark's spirit alive because keeping his name in the title of the show. Do you think New Year's Rocking Eve is going downhill and is trying to attract a new audience?

I think music isn't as popular as it once was. Just look at MTV. I think that has a lot to do with it.
I'd want to keep Dick Clark in the title. He created it. Also, there are other shows(FOX, CNN and next year probably, NBC) that have other people on it.

I agree, I have given up on New Year's Rockin' Eve ever since Mr. Clark died
Now I'm no fan of Ryan Seacrest or American Idol, but I'm not sold on Seacrest or Fergie hostin' New Year's Rockin' Eve
Personally, I would rather put up with Steve Harvey on FOX than Seacrest or his friend and rival Carson Daly or any 24 Hour News Channel like CNN & Fox News
also, yes, New Year's Rockin' Eve has gone downhill, the magic and fire has been gone and music isn't the same either

I'd rather just go to bed and not "put up with" any of them.

Another thing I noticed about New Year's Rocking Eve is just like in boxing when they have the main event New Year's Rocking Eve always has a popular singer be the main event and then the singer gets to sing one song only and then when they finish singing New Year's Rocking Eve cuts to a commercial break. Take for instance all through the week New Year's Rocking Eve announced this year that the main singer was Christina Aguilera but she only sang one song and if I ran New Year's Rocking Eve I would have singers perform more than one song and it would be improved. Another thing I've noticed about New Year's Rocking Eve that could be improved very much is that they take up a whole hour talking with celebrities asking questions like "What are your New Year's plans" to "What's your New Year's Resolution" and all that the celebrities talk is about family life and new babies rather than stuff relating to New Year's Eve. I think New Year's Rocking Eve should be more improved with more celebrities and lots more fun and cut down on celebrity interviews in the future
