-*Forever*- 05-18-2002, 01:43 PM Wal-Mart actually reminds me of FOL the first night it was on my uncle and I were in Wal-Mart and I was sitting on all the shelves going 'What's the Facts of Life about?!' and then we watched it and then all night I talked like Blair
ABlairican Pie 05-18-2002, 01:51 PM Btw, I think in that episode where Jo replaces Blair's Mr. Frog, I distinctly heard Jo refer to the store as "PayMart". Probably because they would have to get clearance to use the actual name K-mart. But, it's still cool to have K-mart pix...before too many more stores close to bankruptcy.
Btw, Lisa shops at Wal-Mart.
Kay Scarpetta 05-18-2002, 05:42 PM Give me Target or Walmart.
Go Walmart!

I went to Wal-Mart today! :)
ChickenLegz 05-18-2002, 06:13 PM Target, OLD NAVY and Ross. I think K-Mart is scrungy. I go to Wal-Mart to buy junk like pens and pencils and school supplies.

RainMan 05-18-2002, 08:17 PM Wal-Mart is very "unfriendly" but Kmart takes time to help you. I call Wal-Mart to see if they have a movie in or anything. Takes them forever to answer the phone. And it runs up my phone bill:(. My local Kmart is cool because they got cell phones so you can contact them at any point of the store. Wal-Mart doesn't have that (around Iowa I've never seen). I don't like Old Navy. Target can burn in the depths of Hell.
Has anyone ever heard of Shopko/Pamida?

Michele35 05-18-2002, 09:08 PM Rainman,,I love the Maude line in your siggie,,go Maude!
Btw,,KMart is alright in my book. I really dig the Martha Stewart Section.
InspectorExstead 05-18-2002, 10:20 PM I live at Target. Target is sooo much better than K-mart. They have the same things, basically, but i dunno, i just like target better. k-mart's going outta business. at least the one near me. i heard all k-marts were going out of business cuz business hasn't been so great. true?
MandieR1980 05-18-2002, 10:31 PM I hate Walmart with a passion or Analmart as I call it now. I used to work for them they are the worst company to work for they treat their employees like crap, give me Target anyday!

Uh, I usually don't go around my K-mart taking pictures. Sorry. PLus all the K-Marts in Chicago are soooo horrible!!!!! They have things all over the floor, never have your size, and the Little Ceasers Pizza cafeteria has never seen a clean or odor free day. Wal-mart is so much cleaner and they have a bigger selection than any other store. Target is cool, but I don't have one near me, so I haven't been there enough times.
Ewan's My Man 05-19-2002, 12:16 AM Honestly, I'm worried about K-Mart obsessed ppl...but hey...I obsess over everything and thats JMO...moving on...

I dont like Walmart,I went to a Walmart once and it was dumpy, stuff was thrown all over the place and it was dirty. Now we have the truth on how Walmart really treats its employees. I saw a Walmart commercial where people were saying " I love working at Walmart", "We're like family here". Give me a break! Walmart is always trying to look so humane in its commercials. They protray the stores as being nice and clean and the employees so friendly and the employees loving their job. That's a lie,it's not really like that. I always notice in their commercials that it's only southern people in them,I don't think I ever saw any black people in their commercials. Not to sound pc,Walmart has stores all over the country and they should show a variety of people in their commercials.
I like Target the best. It's clean and they have better stuff.
Ewan's My Man 05-19-2002, 12:48 PM Ok, I m officially freaked out..........this topic scares me...I'm disturbed.......
ABlairican Pie 05-19-2002, 04:10 PM btw, I did mention some time back that Wal-Mart tries to keep work-related injuries hush-hush and not pay for workman's comp.
As if refusing to stock Goo Goo Dolls and Sheryl Crow albums was the least of their problems.
Would Lisa want to work there??
KimFieldsFan637 05-19-2002, 04:50 PM   These topics get stranger by the second and the replys are even weirder! But I perfer Target myself. And who goes around taking pictures of Kmart?!! If I went into Target n saw someone taking picture I would be a little freaked out!
RainMan 05-19-2002, 05:24 PM Well the Class of 2002 finally graduated. Only ONE MORE YEAR LEFT OF HIGH SCHOOL YES!
Anyways, i agree, they don't have a variety of people in their Wal-Mart commercials. Who would buy over 13,000 bulbs for their garden at Wal-Mart? Surely Kmart has a bigger selection. The Garden Shops at Regular Wal-Marts (Not SuperWal-Marts) are a chain link fence with signs saying "Wal-Mart security Cameras In Use" 20 dollars says if they rip a leaf off of a plant they will kick them out of the store or have them arrested for vandalism. I have seen people just walk out of the garden shop with their merchandise. The Alarms didn't go off but it is funny how Wal-Mart let's customers enter from a non secure place. At Kmart, they don't care if their alarms go off. I was at a closing Kmart yesterday and they didn't care. Maybe they just wanted to get all of their merchandise out of there lol. I don't like Target. It feels like I am in a maximum security prison in there. There are security guards everywhere. They don't have an Auto Center, and theyre fashion commercials are a big joke. I hate the Target commercials. At the local Iowa stores, you can't leave the Electronics department without paying for your purchases....in other words, they have alarms on the ends of the electronics department. If you look at the Toys R Us R=Zone you would figure it out. All of their Nintendo games are very expensive. And Me and my mom went shopping at the Archer Farms Market they have there, and everything was high priced. Since there are no Super Kmarts in Iowa, I don't know if they have low grocery prices or not but Wal-Mart has very low grocery prices I will have to admit. Banquet TV Dinners are only 69 cents! Compare to 1.09 at SuperValu or Fareway or somewhere. I really don't like Wal-Mart's appearance of the store. In every aisle i go through there's a ton of boxes. Actually, at the carroll, IA location if there was a box in the aisle it would block up the aisle since they crammed everything in there when they remodeled the store back in October 2001. But at Super Wal-Mart stores, especially in the food center part, there were boxes of overstock everywhere. Don't they have stockrooms for these things? And The Wal-Mart employees seem to stare at you as if they were stoned or something. At Kmart, there store is clean, the employees are friendly, THEY ACTUALLY HELP YOU, and they have more than Wal-Mart has to offer. Kmart has Little Caesar's, Subway, K Cafe, Islander Cafe, Maid Rite Cafe, and Pizza Hut. Wal-Mart has McDonald's, TCBY/Pretzelmaker, Wendy's, and Radio Grill. Target has Pizza Hut, Starbucks, and McDonald's. Kmart is bigger than both Wal-Mart and Target. IMO, I think Target would have more problems with bankruptcy than Kmart would since Target has less than 400 stores in only 48 states. I am rambling too much lol:eek: :happyface
Oh, and I apologize about that "Target can burn in the depths of Hell" quote. Sorry:p

KMART IN CARROLL, IOWA'S OLD VIDEO GAME CASES.
vienna waits 05-19-2002, 06:09 PM Here the two Wal Marts are really clean and have just been remodeled. I've never seen boxes in the grocery isles either. The Kmart here is just a mess. It looks like they just threw stuff on the shelves and the shelves are very bare too. Like a garage sell except they charge a lot more. The Super Target here is really nice and it's like really clean because it's brand new but they charge WAY too much for everything. No one can beat Wal Mart in price.
But anyways, now why do you take pictures inside Kmart????? Just curious.
Ewan's My Man 05-19-2002, 06:47 PM Ok, I m realllllllllllly scared. Now, the reason for taking pictures is...? And the reason for the infinity word paragraph comparing K-Mart to Target and Wal-Mart...is? I m really freaked out. K-Mart obsessing ppl scare me. Honestly, I think both K-Mart and Wal-Mart r grundgy and disgusting...but hey...what can I say...wait...I'm not gonna finish that sentence...I'm rhyming...I think I m sick...

I don't know where you've been shopping, but the Wally World here is Super Clean. The ailes are always organized and the clothes are always on the hangers. The Radio Grill is clean and it doesn't smell. Chicago Wally Worlds are a little bit less organized, but nevertheless, they were still very clean. But the K-Marts in Chicago are a joke. Like Jeff said, they just toss their items on the shelf and leave it like that. And the Little Ceasers, woof. I've been there and can tell you theres always a mess on the floor and it smells like dead racoon. The clothes are all over the floor and you can't help but step on them. There's too much junk on the floor! I've been to Target once, and I liked it. It's like more trendy stuff for more trendy people. I used to think Target was for our generation, Wally World our parents generation, and K-Mart our grandparents. Basically K-Mart is a trashy place that has gone out of hand and I'm glad they declared bankruptcy. They'll close down a lot of those disgusting places and maybe put in some clean stores.
MrsGarrettRocksMySocks 05-21-2002, 11:39 PM Well, I don't know about the rest of you, BUT, SAMS'S CLUB RULES!!! (LOL, Laudie!;)) I am getting rich off them and Wal-Mart is getting rich off me...hmm......vicious cycle...yea, I agree with Lauren, WHAT IS THE POINT OF TAKING PICTURES OF THE INSIDE OF K-MART?!?(lol..at first, I typed L-marT!)
Sean Snow 05-22-2002, 07:21 AM Target rulz, and Wal-Mart and Sam's Club (I luv getting it cheap there lol) do too! I can not stand K-Mart. It smells horrible in there. And it all comes from the Little Caesar's Pizzeria. That smell is such ewwww. Smells like someone threw up in all the ailes around the place. All the ailses are cluttered, and if something is spilled it usually takes them 30 minutes just to clean it up. Wal-Mart, on the other hand, keeps their ailses usually resonably clean. Usually the only time I see boxes in the ailses is if they're putting something new on the shelves. Target is almost never cluttered here and has a food place in it that DOESN'T smell. Super Wal-Marts rule, at least the ones with McDonalds in them.
