Roseanne, Will & Grace, 13 Reasons Why, American Vandal and Big Little Lies are among the shows that ended, then came back -- or are coming back. As Willa Paskin puts it, there is something “nebulous about the end of endings that gives me the heebie jeebies: This is a little inchoate, but what I hate about it, is that it makes us even more slavishly devoted to the imaginations of the people making those shows, as they themselves are ever more financially tied to their old work. “

Maybe.
Depends on how you look at it. Does it count if it comes back under a different name such as King of Queens appears to have come back under the guise of Kevin Can Wait. Different show but the formula of Doug/Carrie can be seen in Kevin/Vanessa. Even the jokes don't stray to far from the original.
Then you have Dallas, Melrose, and 90210 with the same name but only the added bonus of some original cast members, same generic formula but extended to the next generation.
You also have the television that never evolved, plots that run across all shows with almost the same outcome and script. They are not shows coming back but is the difference only that the shows coming back are ripping off of themselves now?
You could say many shows used the formula, trying to change it up a bit but all in all it is the same: Friends hanging out in Central Perk, Big Bang friends hanging out in Sheldon's apartment. The fashionable girl eventually falling for the nerdy science guy. Different show but same basic formula. It works.
I suppose it is subjective to how you want to look at the coming back shows. Are they just being honest and saying hey were back unlike Kevin Can Wait who wants to attempt to convince you with a character name change and title change it is a different show? Or is it we have become accustomed to shows repeating the formula from show to show that we forget we are repeatedly watching the same themes play out over and over again.

Bring back My Name is Earl on a "premium channel" with some swearing and nudity.

Bring back My Name is Earl on a "premium channel" with some swearing and nudity.
Just bringing it back with the original cast on a channel I get is good enough for me.
I think it's simpler than that. Every decade has a nostalgia era, and we've seen remakes of movies for years. Now I think TV shows are getting the revival treatment.
What's old is new...
