David Eaton, the vice president and executive editor for NFL Media, has “tendered his resignation” (http://awfulannouncing.com/nfl/david-eaton-resigns-vp-nfl-media-multiple-scandals.html) following last week’s exposure of his Twitter interactivity with escorts and porn stars (https://deadspin.com/nfl-network-exec-deletes-dozens-of-twitter-interactions-1821232496). Although Eaton wasn’t personally named in last week’s sexual harassment lawsuit against NFL Network brought on by a former stylist, his resignation comes after more reports of NFL Network’s toxic atmosphere came to light.

The NFL-owned NFL Network appears to have a sexual misconduct problem -- a problem that might be tricky to solve. As Mike Florio notes, "while an independent investigation would serve an important purpose moving forward, it would also create evidence that could be used against the league in litigation filed by (former NFL Network stylist) Jami Cantor, and by anyone else who may decide to pursue their rights in court. As a result, the NFL has a dilemma. Fixing the problem could generate a trail of proof that would establish or exacerbate financial responsibility to current or former employees.
