CBS Plans Elton John Grammy Tribute Concert for 2018

CBS, the Recording Academy and AEG Ehrlich Ventures will present Elton John: I’m Still Standing – A Grammy Salute at New York’s Theater at Madison Square Garden January 30 for broadcast later in 2018.

The concert will be staged Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 8:00 PM ET, two days after the 60th annual Grammy Awards are broadcast live from Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Jan. 28.



The all-star tribute concert line-up will include Miley Cyrus, Ke$ha, Miranda Lambert, John Legend, Little Big Town, Chris Martin, Sam Smith and Keith Urban, with additional performers to be announced.

John will also perform at the concert, playing a selection of hits from throughout his career.





“Sir Elton John is an international music legend who has captivated audiences across generations for more than five decades,” said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of the Recording Academy.

“His creativity, dynamic presence and melodic virtuosity have positioned him as a cultural icon, and the Recording Academy is pleased to honor his immeasurable contributions to the music community.”

So where are the all-stars?


As soon as I saw special Elton John show at the Garden, I went right away to look for tickets. Then I see how cheap they are - for a special Elton John show at the Garden anyway - and I look back to see who's appearing with him. Now I know why they're so cheap. Sorry, I'm not bothering to see that motley crew.

Elton John Tribute Concert ‘I’m Still Standing’ Gets Premiere Date on CBS

CBS will premiere Elton John: I’m Still Standing – A Grammy Salute on Tuesday, April 10 at 9pm.

The previously announced all-star concert will feature Alessia Cara, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Miranda Lambert, John Legend, KeSha, Little Big Town, Chris Martin, Shawn Mendes, Maren Morris, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and SZA performing classic songs made famous by John.

The concert also features special appearances by John Batiste, Neil Patrick Harris, Christopher Jackson, Anna Kendrick, Gayle King, Lucy Liu, Valerie Simpson and Hailee Steinfeld. In addition, John will perform a medley of his hits from throughout his career.
