That 80's Show has been cancelled by FOX.

Ya know, I had quite a few bad things to say about this show when it first appeared, but I have to say it did grow on me, and at times it was funny. I do think it deserved a chance.

Chyler Leigh (who played punk girl Tuesday) will be featured in David E. Kelley's new Monday night lawyer show "Girls Room" this fall on FOX, which is good, because she was one of the highlights of "That 80's Show."

FOX did a good job of cutting loose a few shows i enjoyed, like "Undeclared" which was the best new show they premiered this season, and "Greg The Bunny," which was a totally rediculous concept, but dammit, it was funny.

When I heard about That 80's Show I wasnt to sure. But I saw promos and advertisments and decided to watch. And I liked it. It was pretty good. I liked it alot more then That 70's Show. I dont watch That 70's Show much, but since my other shows ended for the year ive been watching it some, and I have to agree with the previous post about That 80's Show and how it grew on him. Thats happening with me and That 70's Show. So maybe Ill watch it this summer and If I continue to like it Ill add it to me regular fall schedule. My favorite parts of the show are the parents, they are such goof balls, lol. I saw the season finale this week along with the tornado episode. I thought the parents playing the games was hilarious and the remark the two adults said to each to each other the "surprise" thing was hilarious to.

Yeah, unfortunately, T8S got canned, along with Undeclared and Titus. I was so hopeful when I heard that there was to be a show about my favorite decade ever, the 80s. The show was a disappointment to me personally. I remained a faithful viewer, until the bitter end. I was even a productive member of the show's message board, which was unceremoniously deleted mere days after the cancellation announcement came... :(

Well, last night was the final episode of T8S. It was all very anti-climactic, especially in light of the fact the show has been cancelled. It was good to see John Taylor from Duran Duran again, though. It was a sad ending to a dream of a successful (and good) tv show set during the wild and wacky 80s!!! :(

I'm watching a repeat of ER tonight on NBC and who should I see but Eddie Shin... Roger on our lamented T8S!!! I didn't catch this episode the first time it ran. Didn't realize Eddie had a cameo role as an intern!!! Maybe they'll hire him back full time now that T8S has been canned! :)

I myself, had high hopes for That 80's show. With the success of the movie The Wedding Singer and of course That 70's Show, I thought this was a can't miss idea. I think the major problem with the show was that it just wasn't cast right. The only two cast members I see really becoming breakthrough stars in the years to come are Brittany Daniels and Chyler Leigh. Despite that, I do think they were too quick to pull the plug on it. Ensemble sitcoms need time to develop chemistry.

...PLEASE tell me their cancelling BOTH of 'em!

But I haven't been happy with much of ANYTHING on the tube these days! Jokes aren't funny....lame sight gags...characters are TWITS!

I'm not really happy how the networks TRY to make us think some of these shows are funny.

Simplicity is key IMO to the success of any show...but they formulate TO DEATH these days...and soon the premises are SO convoluted, they often fall flat!

I remember seeing the first 10 minutes of the pilot and knowing this show was doomed. I think they did about 40 references to 1980's music, tv,films,politics, and other things from 80's pop culture in the first scene- it was completley forced and contrived.
The reason "That 70's show" worked is because it was wonderfully unexpected in its format, had likable characters you cared about, and solid diolouge. The fact that it was set in the "1970's" was simply a backdrop...the situations were universal- much like "The Wonder Years" (obviously these two shows were very different in their presentation and portrayl of suburban american life). "That 80's Show" possessed none of the qualities above, and was less of a sitcom and more of a bunch of caricatures actually talking about the decade their supposedly living in. It was a lazy attempt to recreate a successful show done without any imagination, heart, or humor. It happens all the time...it was a corporate show trying to make money on a formula...execs never learn and always underestimate the intelligence and imagination of the home viewer.

I never realy cared for t8s. I am completly in love with the 8o's.
Actually come to think of it, I never really liked any fox sitcoms. I watched about two episodes, well actually abut 10 minutes of each. And it didnt quite "grow on me", so to speak.

Yeah, I miss that show, I've seen like every episode, I miss the skits, they did they were great. The Characters were pretty good too, but That 80's Show is kind of Hard to compete with That 70's Show. That 80's show is like one of the shortest spin-off in television history! Fox Bring It back! :(

That 80's Show wasn't that good at all.

It shink! Stick with That's 70s Show at least its funny sometimes.

I taped the first episode for a review I wrote up for the left-wing website Democratic Underground (http://www.democraticunderground.com). I admit I was biased because (1) it was a Fox show and (2) it was set in the Age of Reagan. Nonetheless, I thought the characters were hollow, the plot nonexistent, and the tone designed to appeal mainly to the type of person who gets his or her news from the Fox News Channel, thinks Sean Hannity is hot, and honestly believes George W. Bush has the nation's best interests at heart. I predicted then that T8S would last perhaps six weeks.
