I’m sure everyone know this already, but I caught a credit crunch the other day when my dad was watching Newhart on WBIN (it’s only a partial Antenna TV) and the previous show’s credits were rolling when Evening Shade’s theme song was starting already.

Can someone explain exactly what a “credit crunch” is?

Antenna thinks no one cares about the credits, or theme music, at the end of the show (plus, they want to jam in more of their schlock ads), so they "crunch" (small screen) the credits to the left side of the screen, while the beginning of the next show plays, crunched on the right.

In a variation of this, sometimes they will crunch the credits to the left, and play one of their stupid promos on the right.

Some posters cannot stand the credit crunches, while others really don't care.

Once in a great while, they will play the credits clean. For some reason they did this on Father Knows Best the other day.

Going to all this technical trouble must mean a great deal to them, because it's gotta be a pain in the neck, and costly, to do this all the time.
