Am I the only one who is picking up on this season being repetitive and running out of energy?

The Richard Feynman angle was brought up again pointlessly.

The group was concerned about Burt's new girlfriend angle was just a rehash of Raj's deaf girlfriend. Out for money, etc.

Bernadette pregnant again.

It feels like they are running out of ideas.

I’ve only seen two episodes of Season 11 so far, but neither one was good. Funny lines still, but not funny situations. Not good for a sitcom to be lacking in comedic situations.

The first few seasons were very fresh and young and funny. Now, not so much.

I agree, it's time to bring it to a close. They can wrap it up when Amy and Sheldon finally get married (with a ceremony, which is apparently what they are leading up to after their aborted city hall elopement) and let's have Raj get married too this season and just finish it before the show completely runs out of gas. If there is another season after this one I won't watch it, the show has runs its course.

The broadcast networks have about 184 half hours to program every week. I don't see how this show doesn't make that cut.
It's lasted this long because there's nothing better to replace it with. There hasn't been another awesome show to come along to knock TBBT off the ratings yet. Shows like this would definitely have not run for 11 seasons in the 1970s or 80s. Something new would have captured the audience's attention and ratings would have dropped. They're not dropping now because there's nothing else to watch on network TV.

People will begin tuning out when the same recycled formulaic sitcom episodes become unbearable.

The show is a huge hit to this day, it has already been renewed for next season (last season was year 10 and it was renewed for two additional years).

The show in many ways is a throwback to an earlier time in television history, the first 6 seasons are the classic episodes, much like the first 5 seasons of the Andy Griffith Show (the black and white episodes), or the first five seasons of All In The Family (before Mike and Gloria moved to the Jefferson's old house). By the end of year 6 the audience had developed a relationship with show and the characters that required the comedy to be toned down. It's lighthearted story telling at this point, that's what the audience wants, it's the TV version of comfort food. And again, it's mega hit, as in, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

M*A*S*H ran for 11 years from 1972 - 1983. People can always find something on cable.

As much as seasons 7-9 were steps upward, and Tim Conway was a coup, 10 should have been the last. But the few season 11 stories I had seen early on weren't too bad... but I can't deny it's been stretched out too much. Then again, buyting the Simpsons season 18 DVD set, I'm sorta glad it didn't get cancelled because I'm finding more to like... TBBT, imagine it being on another 10 years...

If it's been renewed, it should end on a high note. Or hope that the MWC syndrome takes place - where "Married with Children" got bland, but new blood revived the final season (but then got axed, leaving the audiences who sat through it wanting more.)

the show is still good, they have managed to evolve the characters and keep bringing interesting storylines, I think another ten years would be enough though.

The show show was depending on whom you ask, actually genuinely funny and unique in its first four seasons. Then everybody started pairing off, getting married and having kids and the show sunk into typical family sitcom territory and stayed there. Also, all of the shows "quirkiness" disappeared: Mrs. Wolowitz off camera (in fairness, Carol Ann Suzi died in real life), Koothrappali unable to speak to women unless he was drunk, Sheldon's arch nemesis Leslie Winkle being written out of the show, etc.

TBBT is definitely less funny than it used to be, though I did find the season finale quite funny and well-written.

It hasn't gotten to the point of, say, Roseanne Season 9 staleness, and I hope they cancel it before it does.

I've noticed I don't find it as funny as I did when it was first on air. I do think the writing isn't as good as it used to be, but I do still enjoy watching.

Very few shows are at their best past season 5. Recent TBBT episodes have had almost as much commercial as show, I think one episode was 18 minutes. At that point the show either has to stretch out storylines or wrap the episode up at a frantic pace. I doubt the actors want to stay much longer but it is hard to say no to that kind of money, especially when you are still relatively young. I can't see them signing again unless the money is outrageous. Maybe they could spin off one of the couples and have some of the others make an occasional drop by but I don't see that working.
