Eighth grade Wally has Eddie and Tooey over to play, and they talk about building a clubhouse.
Eighth grade Beaver is totally different. I can't imagine him building clubhouses. He's too busy having a girl do his autobiography, getting taken in by Mary Margaret Matthews, giving a locket to his girlfriend, etc.
Also, the eighth graders of 1963 seemed bigger and older than the eighth graders of 1957.
Times were changing in a few short years... Fast forward to 8th grade 2017....I don't even want to know!!!

Good observation. Tooey, Wally and Eddie were really fun to watch swapping marbles. I believe Larry and Beaver swapped marbles at age 8 and 9.
How about when Fred insults Wally thinking he was rather small for 15. Ward says Wally is 13. Fred- “Well frankly my boys are more mature.”

Look at the difference between 8th graders in LITB and 8th graders in Brady Bunch. There was just a hair over six years between the last LITB June 20, 1963, and the first Brady Bunch September 26, 1969
Actually, I think Wally was way more mature than Gregg as an 8th grader.

Jerry Mathers was born in 1948, so he would have been 9 in 1957. 9 year olds are normally in the fourth grade, but I will say he looked small for his age, so he was able to play much younger.
He got away with this until the fifth season, and then he had his growth spurt. In 1961, he would have been 13, and probably in the eighth grade. So, in the final season, he should have been a freshman in H.S. All of this probably accounts for why they skipped him from 6th to 8th grade in the show.

That makes sense. Beaver (Jerry) sure did have a growth spurt. June could wear her high heels again in the later seasons when the boys grew up. She wore flats in the early seasons because she was so tall.

It's a relief to know June could vacuum in her high heels again in the later seasons. Just wearing the pearls must have been a real trial for her.
