Besides Warren who would've been the best Person to replace Barney as Deputy?

Jerry Van Dyke

Alvy Moore

Larry Hovis

I could see Jerry Van Dyke getting annoying at times, kind of like Warren could be. Or it just could be that he was annoying to me the times I saw him on some shows, like when he was a nightclub entertainer on Gomer Pyle. Good actor, but I don't know. I just never really LIKED his characters(Lord rest his soul).

I think your idea of Larry Hovis as Deputy is pretty interesting. He seems like a guy who could be pretty inept at times, but at the same time, garner the audience's sympathy.

I don't know who Alvy Moore is. Or didn't anyway. Had to look him up. But I never really got into Green Acres so I couldn't make a critique on him.

So yeah, I'd probably have to go with Larry Hovis. I could see him and Andy working together quite well, even with the screw-ups that would inevitably happen.

So Alvy Moore was Hank Kimble, correct? Way too much like Warren for me.

Jerry Van Dyke would have been the best choice, but I feel a lot of the trouble in later AGS episodes was the writing.
