When William Shatner played Captain Kirk, he was James T. Kirk; but in T.J. Hooker, they went with the same first two initials but reversed them. Did anyone else see that? My dad watched T.J. Hooker all the time because he liked cop shows. He'd watch Cagney and Lacey too, which probably ran a few seasons while T.J. Hooker did.
