In the 2017 movie, Wonder Woman, I wonder if they know what is a "crash landing?"
Capt. Trevor "crash land on the island:"

About 1/3 way down.
Also; "crashes on the shores of her homeland:"

About 2nd Paragraph up from bottom. By Julia Bianco?
What happened? Trevor crash down in the ocean near Themyscira. His plane start to break up and then sink to Davey Jones Locker. He cannot even get out of the cockpit!
A "splash down" usually allow the pilot to get free. See the movie Midway as it show Ensign Gay get out of his plane (a Hurricane?) and then bail to his inflatable raft.
This WW movie was made by people who may have NEVER experienced a proper safety belt. I have.
