I would like to say that I am truly impressed with this set. Shout Factory gets 2 thumbs way up for this set. The artwork is very typical of a release by them but I love the sturdy box and artwork. The episodes appear unedited and there were no music clearance issues I could spot (still watching episodes so not completely sure all music was cleared). My only issue is with the extras but it is very minor. Overall the set meets expectations and everyone should enjoy it.

That is a great price! Where is my friend tlc38tlc38? Of course I would've loved to save more money but still would have waited longer to own it. And Shout did a great job with it that I don't mind. Yes, more extras would have been great but I am not complaining.

That's good to know if all the music scenes are intact. Shout Factory usually does a pretty good job with music clearances although they had to edit two episodes on the Mary Hartman set because they weren't able to clear some Johnny Cash music.

I'm mostly interested in seasons 1 thru 4 of ODAAT, but maybe I'll go ahead and order the complete set sometime in December and give myself a Christmas gift. I'll see, I'll think it over.

I'm here!

$69 is still too expensive for me right now. Maybe things will get better next year. Until then, it's not like I don't have a lot of other things to watch and be thankful for! :)

I'll have to wait until sometime next year. But I'm happy they put this out.

We got almost everything the set could have EXCEPT:

The Unaired pilot - which still exists at UCLA's Film and Video Library and most likely at Sony. (Clearance/Talent issues?)

"New" Extra material with Valerie - Was she too busy to be involved,(She's been really busy and it seems they had a tight production time on the set as it is) wasn't offered enough "compensation" or she just had nothing new to add beyond the 2005 special which was in the set.

She's said NOTHING about the series pending wide release (or advance limited release) in her Twitter feed or Facebook. (Has Mack?) Funny thing that Glenn mentioned Val would be involved and then nothing. Considering all the facts, it seems like a logistics issue to me regardless of the reasons.

Any other surviving cast members contributing either on camera or comments for the episode guide enclosed in the set. (Heck, they could have gotten Val to write a couple of paragraphs as a "forward".)

...and no, Val did not answer my tweet when I asked her about her involvement in "new" Material or just in the archival features.

Well I found a nice deal today on ebay for the DVD set, 73 dollars and free shipping. That sounded pretty good to me so I went ahead and placed the order. Release date for the set is Tuesday so maybe I'll have the DVD's by the end of next week/next Saturday.
