I've noticed that besides cartoons based on movies a second trend that's happening with cartoons is that they are being made into Broadway shows and I would like to know why this is? Is it because cartoons are becoming successful than ever as Broadway shows? Or is Broadway shows a new trend to make the cartoons have more viewers? Take for example I noticed that Spongebob Squarepants has been transformed into a Broadway play and I can't figure out how in the world they can make cartoons into plays. When I saw the Spongebob Squarepants play in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade I couldn't believe how they could do a play on Spongebob Squarepants. Next thing you'll know they will have a Broadway show on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon

The Ninja Turtles had "Coming Out of Their Shells" back in 1990 at Radio City Music Hall. Smaller live productions of TMNT have been going on over the years like Nickelodeon's Total Turtle Takeover in 2014.

Its not so much a "broadway play" they are "stage shows" and have existed as long as cartoons have.
