Has anyone met celebrities before?

Yes, I've met:

Duran Duran
Isaac Hayes (came to speak to my one class in college)
Styx (well various members, most of them used to live near me and I attended school with one of the kids)
Al Kooper (not to be confused with Alice Cooper, Al Kooper was in Blood Sweat and Tears and played on Dylan's Like A Rolling Stone)
Jenny Jones (she used to have a talk show)
The Buckinghams (local band made good)
I personally knew members of the Dells. You may not know them because they are old but they are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

I'm sure I've met more, I'm blanking now. Oh and I didn't meet anyone but saw them filming the Black Knight. I'm pretty sure I've met several blues musicians, I lived near many.

I know (know as in real life) people who have met Tom Hanks, John Travolta and Johnny Depp and all had good comments. In fact true story but Tom Hanks told a local school he would come and talk to them and he did! He's a great guy.

Country singer Pam Tillis. She's my second favorite singer (Dolly Parton is #1).

I'm going to see Pam April 16th when she's at Dollywood....the best of both of my favorites!

In the early 90's, I met singer Juliana Hatfield (Satyricon - Portland OR) while she was touring with The Lemonheads. I was standing in line to get a pitcher of beer, a lady in front of me ordered a pitcher of water, she turned around, bumped into me and spilled her water on me, it was Juliana, she was really nice and apologetic and paid for my pitcher of beer.

Fans of The Adventures Of Pete & Pete will know her from the episode Don't Tread On Pete (she plays the lunch lady that runs off)

At book signings I've met fantasy/scifi author Stephen R Donaldson (got a book signed for a friend for his birthday), it was at a book store at a mall, he was a bit rude.
And at Powell Books in Portland, I stood in line for several hours to get my wife (while we were still dating) a book signed by Anne Rice as a birthday present. Anne was super friendly. When I told her who I was getting it signed for, Anne told me I was a keeper.

Early 90's at a Tower Records in Portland, I met Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle of Roxette.

I, and most everyone in my family that lives in the Sandy/Boring/Gresham Oregon area have had encounters/sightings of/with the Hoffman crew from the tv show Gold Rush, as they live in Sandy.

Before I met my wife, and she was still going to college (University of Washington), she worked at a live music venue/bar that was a hotspot for local bands and met members of various bands including Mudhoney, Everclear, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains...

Too many to list, but the ones I've been most excited about probably wouldn't appeal to many because they are more on the B-list.

Those are the best kind!

I live vicariously through a friend of mine who hits a lot of the cons, he's the one that got my daughter the Texas Chainsaw Massacre apron. And he also got her TerrorVision poster signed by the director.

Do you get any horror cons in your area? There's one local one here that continues to grow each year but the prices are getting out of hand. Where celebrities used to commonly charge $20 for autographs, the norm is now $30-40+.

Seattle has the Crypticon, and Portland has recently had one called the Living Dead Horror Convention. But none really have any interesting celebs. Well, Crypticon this year has Felissa Rose and Jonathan Tiersten, but not really worth the trip just for those two.

I agree. I'd meet them if they were at a convention I was already attending but I wouldn't go too far out of my way for them.

I shook Peter Noone's hand at a concert when he came to Fort Wayne. I haven't met him in person, but Preston Beckman (former head scheduler at NBC and FOX) has published several of my questions in his Masked Scheduler column at TV by the Numbers. On Facebook I am friends with the now deceased Abe Vigoda, and was friends with Barbara Eden when she had an account earlier.

The only celebrity I ever met was Country comedian Jerry Clower when he
performed at Bluefield College(a local Southern Baptist college) in Bluefield,
Virginia in November, 1993. I snuck back inside the auditorium to get Jerry's
autograph. Sadly, I no longer have it as it was lost somehow a few years
later.

Mom and I actually saw Mike Rowe once at Walmart because he is a frequent shopper at our Walmart and every employee knows him by name. Anyway we saw him when we were looking at handbags and Mom got shocked because it was really Mike Rowe. Then when we went to look at the music section Mike Rowe followed us and when I was looking for a cd to buy Mike Rowe went straight for the same cd rack I was looking through and almost shook hands with me. Only then I knew it was really Mike Rowe because he was buying music by Ozzy Osbourne and while he was paying for his music he had a long talk with an employee about music and it was a lucky shopping trip for Mom and me

Mark Farner (Grand Funk Railroad) before he was famous. He is my best friend's cousin. And drummer Don Brewer went to my high school and was 3 grades ahead of me. I knew him because he at the time was dating another friend of mine. The band is from the Flint, Mi area.:)

Don's on the left (love the 'fro!) Mark's in the middle.

That's cool!

The only famous person I knew from school, well not really famous, but she appeared in a movie shot in Oregon in the early 80's called Mystery Mansion.

John Larroquette-stage door of The Best Man, because I didn't get to meet him at the How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying stage door.

Zachary Levi-stage door of his first Broadway show titled First Date.

Sally Struthers-local production of 9 to 5.

Russell Brand-set of Arthur and Jennifer Garner too.

Simple Plan-they performed on Long Island in 2017 and I stayed for the after party. David-their bassist-was the only one not there, because he's battling depression.

Those are the celebrities I met in person. Now for the celebrities that I spoke to online and on the phone.

Lucy Lawless-from Xena The Warrior Princess in the early 2000s back when AOL was the only thing we had.

Benji Madden-that was 11 years ago on Yahoo! I located him on Yahoo! Member Directory and he's a cool dude, but haven't spoken to him in the longest time.

Ray Dorset-he's the lead singer of the old 70s band Mungo Jerry. Nice guy.

Geno Segers-from A Pair of Kings on Twitter.

Lisa Vidal-much older sister of Taina's Christina Vidal. Nicest lady ever!

Christina Vidal-little sister of Lisa Vidal. Super nice woman!

Nick Palatas-from Scooby Doo on Twitter, but also I located his number online and called him up.

Shadoe Stevens-from Dave's World. I called him up and he called me back.

Scott Cohen-from Disney's 10th Kingdom. I called him up and also spoke to him on Facebook.

Rondell Sheridan-from Cousin Skeeter and That's So Raven. I e-mailed him and he e-mailed me back.

Fisher Stevens-from Early Edition. He played Chuck Fishman.

Shanesia Davis-from Early Edition. She played Marissa Clark.

Leonardo DiCaprio-Yahoo! Member Directory.

Tom Welling-through Leonardo DiCaprio.

Kristen Kreuk-Yahoo! Member Directory.

Jason Marsden-voice of Max from those Goofy movies.

Adrian R'Mante-from The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.

Charlotte Rae-from The Facts of Life. I spoke to her on the phone this year and she's super nice.

That's all I can think of at the moment.
