I read somewhere that after the episode "color me gone" was shot, which was a cliffhanger, a conclusion episode was made for the 90/91 season. However the show was canceled and it never aired! Is this true?

I knew that the last episode was a cliffhanger. I was 12 when I saw it on NBC saturday night. The "To be continued" caption appeared on the screen. However I didn't know that there was another episode filmed for it though.

Actually, that IS true, and a damn shame.

The episode should have went with the syndication package. No doubt.
