Terry Crews Files LAPD Report over Alleged Sexual Assault

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" star Terry Crews has filed a crime report alleging a sexual assault that he says occurred at a Hollywood event last year. Los Angeles Police confirm to Deadline that Crews met with officers today to file the complaint.

“We can confirm that a crime report was completed at the LAPD Hollywood division station,” said an LAPD spokesman, who said he could not reveal the name of the alleged assailant.




The police report comes a month after Crews tweeted about the alleged assault by an unidentified “high-level Hollywood executive.”

“My wife and I were at a Hollywood function last year and a high level Hollywood executive came over 2 me and groped my privates. Jumping back, I said, ‘What are you doing?!’ My wife saw everything and we looked at him like he was crazy. He just grinned like a jerk.”

Terry Crews Details Alleged Sexual Assault on "Good Morning America"

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" star Terry Crews opened up Wednesday on "Good Morning America" about an alleged incident involving Adam Venit, head of WME’s motion picture group, at a Hollywood function last year.

Crews last week filed a police report with the LAPD, weeks after tweeting about the alleged assault by an unidentified “high-level Hollywood executive.”





Crews told GMA‘s Michael Strahan that Venit groped him while he was at an event last year with his wife, Rebecca King-Crews, and Adam Sandler.

“He’s connected to probably everyone I know in the business,” Crews told Strahan. “I did not know this man. I have never had a conversation with him, ever. I knew of him … The first time I ever had an interaction with him was at this event.”

“I’m looking at him and he’s basically staring at me and he’s sticking his tongue out. Just overtly sexual kind of tongue moves. It’s a party, it’s packed, the whole thing,” he continued. “And I’m looking like, ‘Is this a joke? I don’t understand.’ It was actually so bizarre. And he keeps coming over to me. I stick my hand out and he literally takes his hand and puts it, squeezes my genitals. And I jump back like, ‘Hey, hey!’ … I go, ‘Dude, what are you doing?’”





Crews alleges that the behavior continued. “And then he comes back again and he just won’t stop. And then I really got forceful, pushed him back, he bumps into all the other partygoers and he starts giggling and laughing,” he said.

“I have never felt more emasculated, more objectified. I was horrified. I went over to Adam (Sandler) right then and there and said, ‘Man, come get your boy. What is his problem?’”

Crews said Sandler looked like he didn’t understand it either because it was “bizarre to both of us.”

A week after Adam Venit went back to work as an agent at WME, Terry Crews is taking the uber-agency and the former head of its Motion Picture Group to court for sexual assault and sexual battery. The nine-claim complaint also claims this isn’t the first time Venit has acted in such an inappropriate manner, and the company run by Ari Emanuel and Patrick Whitesell knows it.

“It is now time to hold Venit accountable for his sexual predatory behavior and to hold WME accountable for its conduct in condoning, ratifying, and encouraging Venit’s sexual predatory behavior,” says the "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" star and ex-WME client in a complaint filed yesterday in Los Angeles Superior Court, stemming from Crews’ allegation that Venit grabbed Crews’ genitals at a party in February 2016.

“Indeed, a message needs to be sent to those in power who abuses those over whom they can exert influence and control that abuse and sexual predatory behavior will not be tolerated.”



WME did not respond to request for comment on the filing and the allegations in Crews’ complaint.

“I believe my family is being tracked and possibly bugged,” the Brooklyn Nine-Nine star who accused WME agent Adam Venit of groping said in a series of tweets. “Someone hacked into the computer my son and I built together. I have to shut it down and replace the hard drive.” WME declined to comment on Crews’ allegations.

Terry Crewes personal is that of a nice person, what is hike in real life? Just asking, but is Terry possibly on drugs? I have done drugs like cocaine and whatnot, but it is strange behavior. I doubt whatever WME is would "bug" his computer or "hack" his hard drive. Really. Is the guy that important?

I also ask without bias, but looking at Mr. Crewes, unless you are a top professional boxer who could beat him down before having sex with him, or give him several "roofies" after alcohol (Jeffrey Dahmer did this), how could someone sexual assault him, or assault him at all.

Terry Crews’ Claims of Sexual Assault by WME’s Adam Venit Sent to Los Angeles D.A.

Already battling Terry Crews in the courts over the "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" star’s sexual assault allegations, WME agent Adam Venit s now facing a probe by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office over the alleged 2016 incident.

“A case was presented to our office on February 6 by the Los Angeles Police Department involving Adam Venit and is under review,” L.A. County D.A. spokesman Ricardo Santiago told Deadline today.




No further information of the specifics of the LAPD’s investigation into what happened between Crews and the now-former head of WME’s Motion Picture Group almost two years ago were disclosed, but a law enforcement source tells us that the dossier the department compiled and sent to D.A. Jackie Lacey’s office was “thorough.”

After the review process is completed by the District Attorney’s office and the special task force Lacey announced in November, Venit’s case could head toward prosecution, get tossed, or be heaved over to City Attorney Mike Feuer for misdemeanor charges and possible prison time.




WME had no response to requests for comment from Deadline on this latest turn in the dispute between their former client and the man who was once one of their top agents.
