It’s the dawn of a new era for "Doctor Who".

BBC America on Thursday released a new promotional image for the upcoming Season 11, featuring Thirteenth Doctor Jodie Whittaker fully costumed and ready to take the TARDIS on many a timey-wimey adventure.

Season 11 is said to consist of ten 50-minute episodes debuting in Fall 2018, beginning with a “feature-length” premiere.

Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor Who looks like it takes inspiration from past Doctors (https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2017/11/doctor-who-costume-jodie-whittaker-references-13th-doctor)
Whittaker’s bright look seems to be inspired by Tom Baker and Peter Davison — and not Robin Williams, as Joanna Robinson notes. Baker and Davison were consecutive Doctors from 1974 to 1984. Robinson adds that Davison serving as inspiration would be funny considering he wasn’t too keen on having a female Doctor Who. She also notes that it wasn’t too long ago, during the Matt Smith era, that the Doctor wore suspenders. Read another in-depth breakdown of Whittaker’s outfit. Doctor Who’s Jodie Whittaker: “This is the defining moment of my life, I feel old enough for it” (https://www.themarysue.com/jodie-whittaker-on-being-the-doctor/)
“And I feel like I understand how important it is,” she tells Total Film, “and I’m so excited that the role models for young children, boys or girls … or teenagers, or adults, come in different forms. There’s nothing unattainable about me. I don’t look like I’ve been carved out of rock. I don’t sound like I’ve had the extraordinary glamour.”

Jodie Whittaker made sure she got paid the same Doctor Who salary as Peter Capaldi (http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/doctor-who/news/a848235/jodie-whittaker-demanded-equal-pay-doctor-who/)
"It's an incredibly important time and the notion (of equal pay) should be supported,” the actress tell Digital Spy. "It's a bit of a shock that it's a surprise to everyone that it should be supported! I know I do not speak just on behalf of the women here, I speak on behalf of the men and the women.”
