I understand that CBS did regional NBA games in the late 1970s. But to me it seemed counterproductive to switch between regional games rather than having one national game each week. Maybe CBS should have done one game for the east coast, with another game for the west coast.

I've always thought that the tape delays were a bad idea. I know, they didn't want to preempt prime time, but the NBA would have done better on some of their weaker nights.

I think the idea of regionalizing telecasts was not a good idea.

Regionalizing telecasts can work. It's never hurt the NFL on Sunday afternoons.
