It had Heather O'Roarke who played a character with the same first name and was the daughter of one of Fonzie's girlfriends Ashley. I was so disappointed with the way the writers handled Ashley. I would've liked to have seen Fonzie marry Ashley and was upset when her ex husband came back. They should've written him off altogether by having him killed off. If Gary Marshall is the one who produced Family ties, he seems to have a history of doing that like when he had Alex Keaton's girlfriend Ellen Reed leave. Those two were extremely likeable even though Ellen was a communist. Her hair style and glasses remind me of Jeanette on the Chipmunks.

Where do you come to Ellen having been a communist?

Garry Marshall didn't produce Family Ties. Gary David Goldberg did.

Because when she first met Alex, she stated the fact that he voted for Reagan as one of the differences.. Also, in the episode where Alex met her dad, he was under the impression that he was for communism.

I liked the characters of Ashley and Heather, but the whole Fonzie-suddenly-has-a-steady-girl storyline seemed a bit forced. Wasn't it from the season where Joanie and Chachi left for their spinoff? I think the producers and writers were looking for ways to fill the departure of two main characters. And then there was Flip. Who couldn't like a little bit of Billy Warlock?

I don't care if it was a fill in for the season when Scott Baio and Erin Moran had their own sitcom. I guess MeTV is finally showing Happy Days reruns again, so maybe I'll find out. I know Richie not only had a steady girlfriend, but he got married. Gary Marshall made it look like Chachi and Richie were cooler than the Fonz because they could keep steady girlfriends and get married, but Fonzie couldn't. I know once in awhile Potsie would get a girlfriend friend. Did Ralph ever have one?
