I think This Schedule look mostly full of single airings during the day and night except when Johnny Carson is on. Having Alice, Coach, Silver Spoons, Hogan Family & Murphy Brown being added to the schedule & Benson returning was a right call for Antenna TV. Too Bad Green Acres, The Jeffersons, All in the Family, One Day at a Time & Newhart are not on here but Antenna TV didnt mention the status of Good Times and Sanford & Son though. Wait till METV unveil their Winter 2018 Schedule.

Interesting that both "Good Morning World" and "Joey Bishop" have missed the older show axe, while rerun staples like "Patty Duke" didn't. If you ever see the Facebook posts for Antenna TV, "Joey Bishop" must lead the "show you hate" brigade. (For what it's worth, I don't mind Joey and actually like the first season episodes.)

Interesting they are moving the Carson shows to 11:30pm - his old slot :)

Now if they'll hopefully rotate in some "New" episodes (60 and 90 minutes) as they have been cycling the same (large) group of episodes for sometime now.

It's also interesting in what shows are staying - has "I Dream of Jeannie" and "Bewitched" EVER been OFF the channel since they started?

I personally love the new schedule (very reminiscent of the ION schedule from around 2006), but I have a hard time seeing how this schedule is going match the ratings performance of the previous schedules. None of these new shows were ratings hits beyond their original airings.

Assuming the overnight and weekend arings are repeats of the weekday airings, its going to take until the end of October to get through the entire cycle of "Alice" (the new show with the most episodes).

Hopefully they can get through a full cycle of these new shows before replacing them with the old, tired standbys that are now "resting".

I am impressed with their January schedule. It is the most variety Antenna has ever had, and most of the Norman Lear shows are finally kicked to the curb! I have never seen Head of the Class, Silver Spoons, The Hogan Family, and Alice, will be checking them out. Head of the Class is my most anticipated of those and is a natural pairing with Welcome Back, Kotter. Benson is my all-time favorite sitcom and it gets a nice primetime weeknight slot, Murphy Brown and Coach also have good slots. My Two Dads also gets a nice weeknight slot and Mr. Belvedere returns to weekdays. Well done! I will miss Newhart, The Addams Family, Patty Duke, and Green Acres, but there are plenty of other good shows on the lineup that I will enjoy.

oh and im so glad they stop the hour of the shows too, its more variety and its the best schedule i seen since maybe the nick at nite days. You dont need an hour or even 4 hour schedule of the same show like LOGO does, when u have all these awesome shows some that havent seen the light of day in years. I agree that Whos the boss should come on this channel and i would love to see Perfect Strangers too.

Don't worry about Green Acres too much its going to be on Metv. They did get the rights back and it should be on in the January schedule, and im looking forward to the Metv schedule because now they will want to compete with Antenna TV. So good luck to them, they dont have the variety that Antenna TV has, I just hope that Metv can keep showing My three sons. They are only on season 6, they started the color episodes, it would be nice for once to see all 12 seasons of it.

If you ever see the Facebook posts for Antenna TV, "Joey Bishop" must lead the "show you hate" brigade. (For what it's worth, I don't mind Joey and actually like the first season episodes.)

I also like The Joey Bishop Show. Some episodes aren't that great but overall it's a fun show. And in some ways, I think it's funnier than The Dick Van Dyke Show. The Van Dyke Show tends to focus too much on trying to be witty and sophisticated, while Bishop's show tends to focus more on fun and laughter. I have the retail DVD set of Joey Bishop Show season 2, and I made my own DVD's of seasons 1, 3 and 4 from the Antenna TV airings since it's questionable if those seasons will ever get released on DVD.

Regarding the new shows that will be on Antenna TV starting in January, the only one I'm interested to see is Alice, the others aren't to my liking so I won't be watching.

6:30PM AliceI like Antenna's schedule. The best part is pairing Welcome Back Kotter and Head of the Class. Three's Company doesn't have anything in common with Webster, it makes sense to pair it with a racy show like Soap. Family Ties and Maude both mention politics but other than that are different, Family Ties is a much gentler show that has often been compared to Growing Pains. What I would most want to change about their schedule is replacing Becker with Newhart at 10:30PM, Newhart would be a natural lead-in to Coach and has also been paired with Murphy Brown in the original CBS run.

For TWO FREAKING YEARS i've anticipated "Alice" to start on this damn channel and what do they do? Shove her at the godforsaken times of 1pm and 1am!! The first airing when i'm out and the second when i'm fast asleep! WAT??! WHY?!

I was 100% certain she'd get a prime time slot between 8 & 11pm. Silly me for being presumptuous. At least Murphy Brown got respectable treatment airing 10pm. It would have paired perfect with Alice too. Oh well....Antenna TV I have just one thing to say to you....

Also, "Three's Company" at 8pm weeknights?! This is asinine! It's one of the most run into the ground, overplayed shows on the network and in dire need of a rest.

This could have been a perfect place to bow "Alice" to, but no. Rather than air a highly anticipated new show MANY have been clamoring for and some haven't seen for decades, in a prime time slot, let's throw an overplayed, tired sitcom that has aired cycle after cycle after cycle there instead! BOO! :(

It makes no sense at all. Wouldn't it be more logical to throw "Three's Company" to the 1pm/1am slot and give that 8PM coveted prime time slot to a newly premiered show?!

Shows like "All in the Family" for years enjoyed having those cushy comfy prime time slots between 8 & 11pm, cycle after cycle, proving that it is indeed a more desirable airing time for shows.

So why on earth it goes to "Three's Company" over "Alice" is beyond my comprehension. I think Antenna TV execs just threw darts at the wall when filling these 2018 time slots.

At least i'll have "Alice" Sunday nights at 10:30pm. Once a week! OH BOY! OH BOY! It will take YEARS to go through the whole series. Thanks Antenna TV!

Ouch... I also live in Fort Wayne too, but I never realized or checked anything of Antenna TV lately for months.. Is LAFF replacing WANE Antenna TV? Why would WANE drop Antenna TV from Fort Wayne affiliate?

One good thing about antenna TV is they usually show the episodes all the way through even f they change timeslots. A lot of the new shows coming up in January haven't done very well in syndication either.

That's interesting. I wonder if it's because it's too topical and dated. I haven't seen the series since it's original airing decades ago, but I remember how famous the show was for using many topical issues of it's time.

Then again, All In the Family was the same way too....maybe people just don't care much for Candice Bergen lol.

Now if 'Alice' had aired at 10pm i'd have been in hog heaven!! I'm so jealous of west coasters who will get it at that time...Maybe I should just move across the country haha. :rotflmao:

Ouch... I also live in Fort Wayne too, but I never realized or checked anything of Antenna TV lately for months.. Is LAFF replacing WANE Antenna TV? Why would WANE drop Antenna TV from Fort Wayne affiliate?

So much I was lookin forward to watchin The Hogan Family and Head of the Class... and now I can't :(WANE added 2 diginets and got rid of Antenna TV. On Comcast Antenna had been on channel 250. ION is now there, which is a total waste since it already airs on channels 67 and 253. I even like the channel more than a lot of people, but refuse to watch 250 and get WANE's adds. I will stick with 67 for ION. Over the air Antenna had been on 15.2 and ION had been on 15.3. Antenna was yanked from 15.2 and ION replaced it there. LAFF replaced ION on 15.3. While not nearly as good as Antenna, I do like Night Court on LAFF. However, that is only available over the air. Comcast customers do not have access to it. My online listings show LAFF is channel 251, but that number does not exist on Comcast. 251 is where WANE's ION was shown before Antenna was dropped, and that number did not exist on Comcast then either. But LAFF does not have the 2 additional channels that ION did when it was there. Besides LAFF, I think the other diginet WANE added was Escape on 15.4 (not available on Comcast either, but I have no interest in this station.) On the morning Antenna was removed WANE was bragging about offering more entertainment choices now. While they do have one more channel overall, it is not worth it to lose Antenna for LAFF and Escape. They got a lot of flack, when I last checked their Facebook post had almost as many angry faces as likes. A lot of sad faces too, and plenty of negative comments. WANE is a slimy station, they had been trying to get rid of Antenna for over 2 years. I had actually thought they decided to keep Antenna for good, had not heard anything about dropping it for a few months. Then all of a sudden my online listings and onscreen guide show Antenna would be changing to ION at 9AM the next morning. This was different from just a few hours earlier when they showed Antenna for the next two weeks. WANE made an announcement on their newscast that Tuesday night that Antenna would be leaving the next day. However, no mention whatsoever was made on the actual Antenna station that it was changing. For those who do not keep up with listings like I do or watch their main station, it was a complete surprise losing Antenna the next day. Burns and Allen ended, I saw a brief glimpse of The Patty Duke Show, and then the fatal change was made to ION. I really hope WANE's ratings have plunged across the board since this terrible move. I had never seen the 2 shows you mentioned and was looking forward to them, especially Head of the Class. I had really been impressed with Antenna's January lineup and thought it was an improvement over an already great station. Benson in primetime, followed by Wings and Murphy Brown. Welcome Back Kotter and Head of the Class paired together. My Two Dads got a weeknight slot, and I had never seen Silver Spoons either. Mr. Belvedere was back on weeknights at a good time. We also will not be able to see the Newhart and Coach marathons over New Year's unless one of our other locals picks up Antenna this month.

It wasn't a right call if the shows are airing while people are at work and school

Johnny Carson is Antenna's top rated show, and has been since it started. They're contractually obligated to air it every night . It isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I enjoy it, but to each their own, I guess.

The facebook post I saw on Antenna's page doesn't say, but I did find this (http://rabbitears.info/market.php?request=station_search&callsign=wfft) that says it's going to 55.3. That site is generally pretty accurate.

The Ropers and 3's A Crowd are part of the Three's Company package so when Antenna TV used to run two back to back shows of Three's Company the second one was The Ropers or 3's A Crowd when they got to that part in the reruns.

I grew up on all those 80s shows. I only recall My Two Dads for introducing me to Paul Reiser. Staci Kennan was then on Step By Step while Paul did Mad About You. It was disappointing Paul's last sitcom failed quickly. But he did a memoir that was published around the same time.

Silver Spoons with Rick Schroder also had Jason Bateman who then ran off to what became The Hogans or Hogan Family, but was once called Valerie's Family. Head Of The Class had Howard Hessman, but he quit and Billy Connolly took over.

Alice was known for the character of Flo, but she left early in the series to a spin off. So the show went through changes. Diane Ladd, who did the movie version Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, joined but Linda Lavin disliked her so she was fired. Vic Taybeck was well known for his role as well. They had Sorrell Booke appear as Boss Hogg a few times.

Benson was a character first in Soap. I didn't know that when Benson ran. I figured it out back when Antenna TV ran Soap the last time in 2012.
