Bearer of bad news, but the star won't be quite as easy as I had hoped. :(
I went looking to see what I could find out and a petition won't work. According to the official Walk Of Fame site, a nomination has to be sent in along with a 10 page biography, picture, example of the artist's work and $15,000 sponsorship fee. I'm sorry about this, but I thought the petition would work. I'm going to put a link here to the site, so all of you can see if this a project to look into. Again, I'm so sorry! :(

Woah........ Maybe Jr. can somehow contribute. He's got big dough now.......... I wonder if there is even a start on the site for Freddie? :(

Yea with all the political Red Tape in Hollywood it would be hard even for Freddie Jr. I've been exploring ways to start "Freddie Fever", if I cause a lot of rutkus and get lots of attention perhaps someone would sponser the cause. This could take years to do and it all depends on how far we can take this show.
I am working on it though - because I truly beleive he derserves one.

Thanks, Laz for keeping Freddie's name & memory alive. I sure hope we can get him a star on the walk of fame. He deserves it so much. :)

Wouldn't it be wonderful if his son accepted it on his behalf? I could dream............ Maybe one day. :)

Well, I wouldn't give up so easily because Freddie has been recognized by La Raza. I have a picture of Jr accepting the award from them on his father's behalf. With a powerful Latino organization like that, maybe just maybe we'd have a prayer.

Also now that Latin heritage awareness is so popular with many Latino shows, music, movies, etc popping all over, many people may be ready to pay homage to the people who came first.

Basically I'm just trying to give a pep talk. LOL I hope it works!

Is that the La Raza Chico & Mando talk about where Mando says VIVA LA RAZA, in think in the Strike episode? I sure hope we can get him a star on the walk of fame. Fans did it for the Monkees some yrs ago & I think that was before they had the internet like maybe around the Monkees revival of 1986. I remember Monkees fans asking for donations & fans donated & they raised the money & got them a star. Maybe if we're lucky. He should've had a star years ago. If only he could be alive for this...

La Raza is a Latino awareness organization. They started the BRAVO awards which changed to the ALMA awards. I think now they may have changed their name too, but that's what I remembered them being called. You can go to the official ALMA awards site to learn more about them.

 Thanks for the giggle, JennyLee! Hope you like what's in your mail.

That most definately isn't good news. :(

Hopefully someone will come up with a donation because he really does deserve it.

Yes it involves alot of red tape and alot of funds. I was there at the Monkees walk of Fame ceremony which was held in the summer of 89. During the hype and height of there reunion tours, 86, 87, and 89. There fans were able to raise enough funds for the star as well as extra going toward each of ones desired chariety. Or as we called it backed then in 89 "The allimoney Tour"
LOL.

I know as well as the rest of us we would love to see Freddie recieve a star. I have been to the site on how to go about the procedure. It is a long and troublesome process.

That's so cool you got to see the Monkees inducted in the WALK OF FAME. Now if only we could get Freddie inducted there...
